  What a delightful experience to stay at this Meridien in New Delhi. It is conveniently located in an area of quiet garden residences and luxury hotel, but close to the bustling markets and commerce of Connaught Place. The airport is 30 minutes to 1 hour away, and several metro stops are within walking distance. The rooms are cosy, minimally decorated and practical, outifitted with high-quality materials and special attention to selective lighting. The walls are panelled with either light or dark wood panelling - I personally preferred the relaxing effect of the darker panelling, but the lighter rooms are quite cheery. There are pleasant views over garden quarters from 3 of the 4 sides of the hotel. In the suite rooms, it's even possible to enjoy the view from a luxurious bathtub. A myriad of small details in the decor and room services provide delightful surprises such as Tom & Jerry cartoons in the elevator foyer, soaked almonds to start the day according to local tradition, fresh fruits or pastries that occasionally seem to appear by magic in your room. What I found most impressive during my stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. One example is when at breakfast I was not able to find my favorite newspaper, I was informed it was temporarily unavailable but suggested to try another one of similar style. Then when I returned to my room about 1 hour later, I found my favorite newspaper hanging on my door. On another occassion, an outside shop made a late delivery after I had checked out. When I checked back in the following week, the package was handed to me at reception before I even had a chance to enquire about the delivery. This ranks among my favorite hotels in the world.

  Hotel has had a parital facelift, mainly in the rooms which is great. remainder of the hotel is in a time warp. service is very ordinary, from arrival at reception, ...

  Hotel has had a parital facelift, mainly in the rooms which is great. Remainder of the hotel is in a time warp. Service is very ordinary, from arrival at reception, to requesting and iron for your room. everything is a chore for the staff. Location is great - clsoe to business and main sights - would I return - no.
