Always have issues at checkout. Because I booked through online travel website they would not give me a statement of the rooom. They always include consumption on the bill even if not touched. Promised a better and recently done room and they never complied. The only thing I like about is the location easy access to be picked up by friends and family. I think I will try something different.

I visited Sto. Domingo for the 1st time July 4th weekend, 2008. One of my friends who lives in the city recommended it. It was a nice hotel. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. I had no problem speaking with the staff. They made sure my stay was fine. The only thing I did not like was the ac was too strong and the bed was a little too soft for my liking. Also the hotel was centrally located. The colonial zone was within a couple minute drive. Las Americas airport is close by, as well. Had breakfast there and the food was excellent... The pool was great. They had a decent gym but I felt it was too small.

This hotel has very bad service. As soon as we arrived, they didnt have our rooms ready and when we got upstairs, thee rooms were extremely dirty and we had to wait until they were cleaned before we settled in. The pool was under construction and we were not even told until we got there. There were roaches on the bed, in the shampoo dispenser and on the floor. The service was HORRIBLE and the rooms are ugly. I would not recommend this hotel because it is not what I expected and they charge way too much.

the price of this hotel as listed did not include the 26% tax so it was no bargain. Although it is not terrible you can definitely do better. Place just gave me the creeps for some reason. Not rea;;y dirty but just old and worn out. The bed was very lumpy as was the pillow.Difficult to communicate as staff has marginal English speaking ability and they seemed a bit indifferent.Overall definitely would try somewhere else next time.

I have stayed several times at the Lina, I'ts a great hotel where you feel at home. Meals are the best you can get. The breakfast buffet has some great tasting mangu(mashed plaintins) will keep you filled up the whole day. The hotel is also centrally located. You can take a cab to all attractions. A good thing is to have a cabdriver that you know, its less expensive.
Do try the Lina restaurant a la carte, a little expensive but good.
There is a great band performing in the lobby bar, if you want to dance you dont have to go far.
I always enjoy staying at the Barcelo Lina
