look around for another hotel if going on vacation

okay here is the real deal , this hotel is really not for a vaction is is far away from just about everything. the staff was not helpful some friendly other not so friendly manly at the front desk,. this hotel is for conventions. could not get to the pool for meetings just about everyday

Overall, the hotel is pretty good. I have seen better to include the Marriott in San Jose. I was able to get the Marriott at the government per diem rate, but I would not press my luck in trying to get that rate again. For the price, the Crown Plaza Corobici was just fine. What really stands out about the Corobici is the Japanese restaurant on the premises, the Fuji, which is absolutely great. If you go to San Jose, you should go to this restaurant. The other item is the gym. In fact, it is a full blown gym attached to the hotel. The gym has membership for the local population, and hotel guest have access to the gym as well. In my opinion, it is hard to find a hotel with a real gym so easily accessible.

We stayed here the first week in Feb 2009 and thought the hotel was beautiful, very clean and in a safe location. It was our first time in San Jose and we were meeting up with some friends that live there. The location is ok, but I guess it depends on what you are going to San Jose for. Taxis are always outside to take you where ever you want to go, just make sure you know the exact address and make sure the driver knows before you get in the taxi. We were going to the Escazu area every day and the majority of the taxi drivers didn't know many locations there. Same thing with getting back to the hotel, most taxi drivers didn't know the hotel by name. Carry the hotel map with you (available from the front desk). Also, we don't usually order room service but we did on our last night there. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was actually excellent. The pool area is also very nice, with lots of tables to have a meal or drink. All in all it is a great hotel and I would definately recommend it.

My husband & I had to spend our first night in San Jose so we started our vacation at the Crown Plaza as well as our last day. Was a good hotel to stay in for our first night and time in Costa Rica. Great location. Close to the airport as the next morning we had a early flight. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed on the 6th floor (executive rooms) with breakfast included. Had our breakfast outside by the pool. Never got the chance to experience the full hotel facilities but would defitnetly stay here again & highly recommend this hotel. In my overall experience the Crown Plaza meet our standards.
