  Never ever will I stay at this hotel again! Broken light switches, paper thin walls, filthy walls and they clean soooo well that I found money on the floor! We left after 1hr and went to a better hotel!

  The room was filthy.. bugs smashed on walls.. water would not turn on..dust or dirt all over the floor and room. i left so quick and went somewhere else... ...

  THE ROOM WAS FILTHY.. BUGS SMASHED ON WALLS.. WATER WOULD NOT TURN ON..DUST OR DIRT ALL OVER THE FLOOR AND ROOM. i LEFT SO QUICK AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE... PLEASE REMOVE THIS HOTEL FROM YOUR LIST...

  At first appearance it looked ok. We were late for our conference and did not notice anything until we returned late that evening. It took the 2 of us with all our force to turn both the sink and shower faucets on and off. The toilet didn't flush so we had to manually remove the tank cover and hold the arm to fill the bowl with water. The blanket was a double on a queen bed for 2 people. The sheets were torn and washed tissue paper thin, the bedspread stained and with burn holes. The vent fell out of the airconditioner and best of all was that we had to go to the office to exchange our room keys EVERY time we wanted to enter our room, they would demagnitize somehow - EVERY TIME...hmmmm I'll save more money & stay elsewhere GUARANTEED

  I have been all across the country and this hotel is by far and away the worst hotel that I have visited. The room that we were given was, to say the least unclean. There were cob webs hanging from the ceilings and walls and greasy dirt was built up in the corners on the floor, especialy behind the door. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was covered in a thick layer of dust and cob webs and the wall paper was starting to peel at the seams. The beds were cheap, old, and very uncomfortable. The towels were thread bare and old as well. And that doesn't even include the wild life. We spent our day exploring Redding and arrived back at the hotel and found that ants had taken over the sink and bathroom areas. Lots of ants. That is when we noticed the spiders that had a webs between the cieling and wall above the sink snacking on the ants. Needless to say we went to the office and requested a new room. The man at the desk gave us a new room but never once appologized for the conditions. The new room was indeed cleaner but, on the dresser, there was a cup of tabacco spit and it looked like the bathromm had not been fully cleaned and re-supplied. There was also garbage under thw bads. The hotel felt like a pay by the hour or by the night typr of place. Really seedy. If i were Howard Johnson I would be emarrassed to have my name associated with this property. This place was so bad I would never consider staying here or any Howard Johnson's again. Stay away. There are plenty of other hotels in the area.

  The first room we checked out reeked of urine while the others smelled like someone had OD'd on something in the room. After realizing that we would rather spend the night on the road than worry about possible needles sticking out of the beds or getting sick from the air in the room we spoke to the front desk. The manager, while not surprised at the complaint, didn't offer any sort of apologies even when we stated we were afraid for our health, refusing any sort of refund. The day manager we contacted the next morning was even worse. Needless to say, we have filed complaints and we are considering contacting the local health department as well. Bad accommodations. Rude and unhelpful staff. Don't ever stay here.
