  The Del Mar Hilton was ideal for our trip to the races. The staff was effecient , the rooms comfortable , well furnished with even an easy chair with ottoman in our king bed room. A superior mattress was appreciated.On future visits I will be certain to request a room unused by guests with animals. Our rug was covered with white cat/dog(? )hair. The interior of the hotel was quite elegant with tropical theme large outdoor courtyard with pool and lounge area extending into the large lobby bar. I did question the architect's competence on the exterior style of the building. It had a faux half-timbered wood pattern totally incompatible with the overall style of the building. Luckily the interior was super, Even the breakfast was first class and moderately priced. We'll go again!

  The nice thing about our stay at the Hilton was the close proximity to Del Mar Beach area. We would get up early & take our dog down to the beach to play with all the other frisbee catching pups. She is only a very small terrier but she ran with the big dogs. The hotel was clean & nice pool & patio area. The downside, everything is a extra charge. The internet, parking. I don't understand why the higher end hotels have to dime you when partner hotels like the Hampton include internet & parking.

  We were in the area for a conference actually held in El Cajon. This lovely resort was actually close to I-5 and it took us 30 minutes to get there each way. We were able to access the beach at Del Mar in a few minutes and great seafood restaurants as well. Our room was great and being there in the middle of the week made for a quiet, enjoyable experience. We felt very safe as it is necessary to use your room card to access the parking lot in and out. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was a feast I did not expect with very attentive waiters. I had already read reviews and knew tht there was a one time parking fee plus daily internet fee so we were not surprised at this (especially with the sharp rise in gas prices everywhere.)We would stay here again and again and recommend it to anyone wanting a good experience along the California coast.

  This is a nice hotel but parking should be included. We had to pay $12.00 a day to park in their parking lot. Nice rooms, nice pool but we won't stay there again because of the parking fees.

  We love Hilton for the service and beautiful hotels but this one did not quite hit the mark. the AC was out, the pool dirty, the housekeeper rude and the food/ service at Silks was terrible. They also tried to charge us for services we did not use. To be fair we have never had bad service at any of the other Hiltons and maybe this was just a bad week for this one but we will not be back.
