  Liked the location; hotel was nice and clean; room a bit on the small side but adequate and for the price we got (I think it was around $90/day) versus other area hotels at $150/day +, I thought it was a great value. Our frustrations were really centered on the "free shuttle" service. Shuttle for pick up at airport is only sent once you have collected your bags and was told 20 minutes but turned out to be 45 minutes. We were not aware that the shuttle to/from hotel and Sea World was only at specific times. Although, while we were lead to believe that, we discovered that other arrangements were made for others ...but I think that was to/from the Zoo. Then to top it off, despite the fact that we had scheduled our shuttle time to go back to the airport, the one shuttle that was available at that time wanted to take a separate group to the Zoo instead. We had to insist on getting a shuttle as scheduled to get to the airport. I am torn about whether or not I would stay there again. I liked the hotel and it's location for the price, but I would not place as much value on their "shuttle service" when considering that next stay - in fact I would expect to take on the cost of a rental car. Oh, unless you have low expectations, do not eat the breakfast there - that is my recommendation.

  I stayed here for one night after staying in a 4 star hotel here for business and really thought this hotel was better. The room wasn't giant but was very nice- newly redone and had beautiful marble tops on bureaus, nightstand and bathroom, and great curtains, carpet and upholstery. The bed was very comfortable and they offer a selection of 4 types of pillows! a nice touch. They also offer internet access for free (the 4 star place charged $13 a day) as well as a free shuttle to the airport. They helped me with sending a package, directions, and a problem I had with power to my computer - the maintenance person was there within 5 minutes and turned out I hadn't turned on the switch! They all could not have been nicer or more helpful. I would definitely come back.

  Not right in the heart of downtown, but everything is easily assessible. 4 blocks to trolley station, 2 blocks to bus stop and seaport village and gaslamp were both walkable. ...

  Not right in the heart of downtown, but everything is easily assessible. 4 blocks to Trolley station, 2 blocks to bus stop and Seaport Village and Gaslamp were both walkable. The shuttle service from hotel was very accomodating. The hotel was under renovation, but we were not disturbed by construction. The bed was VERY comfortable. It would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast (free coffee in the lobby would have been nice). Overall, the breakfast grill was good and the price was reasonable. The pool did not look inviting, and did not appear to ever be in the sun.
