  I will not recommend this hotel to anyone! We were traveling to Spokane for a basketball tournament and made reservations (2 weeks prior) for 8 rooms (each had our own confirmation number reserved by a credit card), and when we got there, we had no rooms reserved. When we reserved the rooms by phone, we were not told that there was a $150 deposit on top of the hotel rate. Keep in mind that they will charge your debit card the $150, and it can take 24 hours to refund into your checking account after check-out. I really don?t understand the deposit considering this hotel is not worth any rate you pay. The rooms were ok, but the bathroom barely fit one person in it, the bathtub was dirty, the bathroom door would not lock and you could see though the crack of the door, the light switch in the bathroom shocked me, the hotel was cold, no garbage bags in garbage cans. The pool is indoor, but you had to walk outside in the cold (20 degrees weather) to get there and back to your room (after you were wet). You could hear the traffic from outside on the second floor. But most of all the customer service was TERRIBLE; they were rude and not willing to help us at all. They responded to us with an ?I don?t care attitude?. One of the workers had her kids, screaming, in a play pin in the back room with the door open. We were schedule to stay for 2 nights but were so disappointed that we wanted to check-out early, and when we tried to check-out, we couldn?t because we paid cash, and they couldn?t give us a refund because all their cash was in a safe and only one person had the key and was not in until the next day. We checked-out the next morning and stayed at the Red Lion at the River, and we were VERY happy (best customer service at the Red Lion)!

  I have never felt so black in my life. i was treated with such disrepect and racial indifference that i know and have been told by other hotels that this hotel is famous for!!!!

  Don't stay here. There are cheaper, better places elsewhere. The floor of my room was so dirty, it turned my socks brown. I couldn't sleep because of the excessive noise from the street, neighboring balconies and the old AC wall unit. I ended up paying for a cheaper much better room for the night elsewhere since this motel wouldn't refund my money or give me a different room. Howard Johnson's made no attempt to compensate me for my loss.

  We had to change rooms right aways because the first one wasn't clean and had someones clothes in the dresser. The breakfast.....WHAT BREAKFAST!!! It was the sorriest looking thing I ever saw. They really need to just TEAR THE HOTEL DOWN!

  From the horrible stench of chemicals (major remodeling in lobby), to the staff.. where do I start? Internet connection - nonexistent, Rooms - Shabby and worn, AC/Heat - From 1970, Breakfast - Nearly rotten fruit and watery coffee. One shining star was the pet treatment, but hey, this was almost like staying in a kennel anyway.Hopefully they are going to spend a lot of money in remodeling as a coat of paint will not do it!
