  My trip to the Oakland area was stressful and frought with difficulties. The staff at the Hayward Comfort Inn were the highlight of the trip. They were thoughtful and caring and helpful beyond belief. From carrying my long-delayed luggage to my room, arranging a taxi, even helping me pour my breakfast waffle correctly, they were kind and professional. The room was clean and well-appointed, a real bargain. The only negative is that the street is quite noisy, but ear-plugs worked well. I highly recommend this hotel.

  We were very pleased to stay the hotel. all staff were very helpful and friendly. the room was clean. breakfast was nice. only, the street was noisy.

  It is hard to book hotels in a city/neighborhood you've never been to. We were the most pleased with the location of the hotel and the staff - who were very helpful and friendly. It doesn't offer much in the way of a view or amenities but if you are looking for a friendly, clean place to lay your head during the evenings, this is the place for you.

  Room was clean and spacious, but the street is very noisy. Near the back where I was is probably best. But the street noise was still somewhat disruptive in the middle of the night. Breakfast was adequate, but not exceptional. But again, for the price in that area, OK.

  from the outside, it doesn't look like a motel I'd choose.Not terrible, just utilitarian and no-frills looking.But I'm actually glad I stayed there. Very nice staff. Free breakfast (that I never take advantage of because I'd rather sleep). The room was: Very clean, had fridge and microwave, great shower, comfy beds, quiet.I slept better here than at home. Not big or fancy but has pretty much everything you need. Totally random:the apples in the basket in the lobby were delish!
