  We stayed here on a recent trip and forgot some items in the room. We called right away to report the items missing and were given the runaround by the front desk clerk. After finally getting in touch with the approapriate person, the front desk clerk told us the items weren't in the room. We know for certain they were left there. Not only is the place overpriced, but you may end up paying more than you bargained for.

  When we arrived, we were faced with dragging 3 heavy suitcases up about 6 steps to get to the lobby. No sign indicating a ramp that we could see, and we only found out there was one after we had already managed to get up to the lobby. We had an efficiency unit which was nice, but it has seen better days. Phone was unplugged and we couldn't reach it to plug it in as plug was behind heavy credenza. Room was a little shabby for a Quality Inn. The satellite was down so no TV reception; were told it would be fixed the next day, but that didn't help us that night... Front desk knew nothing about dining nearby, even though Pea Soup Andersen's is down the street it was a HUGE disappointment, by the way;. We thought the room was overpriced, especially since we had lodging in San Francisco a couple nights later for about $ a night, and that was near Fisherman's Wharf! The only attraction nearby is Solvang, but even though it was Saturday night, everything was closed up tight by about 6:00 PM. Oh well, live and learn....

  Awesome! The horseback ride at Circle bar was fantastic! Our guide Francis was freindly and helpful. We enjoyd our stay at the Quality Inn at Buellton for the price it wasth best deal around. We loved the town of Solvane. The entire town has a Danish influence. The Anderson's Split Pea was excellent and our visit to Ostrich Land was truely a once in a life time experience! I cant wait to return. However, the traffic on our return home through LA was horrible and we sat for hours trying to get home to San Diego.

  The hotel is actually fairly nice for what you pay. The rooms have been upgraded and are well kept. The breakfast is a nice touch but not that great. The real issue I have with this place is the fact that the receptionist would not honor my 10% AAA discount as stated when I made my reservation. He stated that the price already included the AAA discount. He stated "" take it or leave it"". I tried to explain to him the quote I received when I booked the room, and went over with him the advertised amount and the amount with the discount. (I'm not sure if he was able to follow my math. It was a simple 10% discount. His original price and his discounted price didn't even add up to 10%, so I know he was just making it up) It was not until I stated that I would report the hotel to the Better Business Bureau and the AAA that he finally gave me the agreed upon rate. So just be careful and don't back down. He'll try to stare you down and bully you, but you have a right to get the price you were told. One other thing the side door doesn't have a lock on it so anyone can just come in.
