  We had the most enjoyable comfortable stay; We had to add the 2 little grandkids to trip - so we called the hotel to ask for a change from the king bed room to a double bed room and to ask/pay the addititional cost - the hotel granted the request - AT NO ADDITIONAL COST! That was very nice! When we checked in we requested more pillows and towels - when we got to the room like 5 minutes later the pillows and towels WERE ALREADY THERE!! The front desk called while we were setting up our nest for the next few days to welcome us and ask if we needed anything else we might need- just call if we did!! ROOMS WERE CLEAN BEDS WERE MADE when we returned after a very very event filled day! We were there 4 days and 3 nights so it was a very good feeling to know we had no worries! OH and the pool was clean and shiney and the waffles at brk was awsome!!!!

  The Howard Johnson's was an excellent hotel. The rooms have been recently remodeled and are very nice. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a granite surround in the tub and a granite vanity top. The Room was well equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and a computer desk. The Hotel served a breakfast daily which included hard boiled eggs, sweet rolls, toast, oatmeal, waffles, orange juice and hot coffee. I found the staff to be courteous and efficient. They do charge an automatic dollar a day for a safe whether or not you want to use it, I did. Great Safe, you can use your own code or use a drivers license or other card with a mag stripe to program and open the safe. Overall, I will stay there again.

  First off, the place was pretty clean, the staff was nice. The worst part is that I was unable to access the internet. Free wireless internet is worthless if the signal keeps dropping. In this day and age where even coffee shops provide reliable free internet, what is the problem here? I was unable to do any business on my trip in regards to responding to email or web or checking on convention updates or chat to meet up with friends. If internet is not important for your trip and you just want a clean place to stay, the Howard Johnson's is fine. But for someone like me who actually needed internet access, it was frustrating. Heck, charge a few dollars for it if it will mean better connectivity.

  The front desk staff was very friendly. They were very accommodating. Room service was quick. The only problem we had was there was no a/c, just a fan and the room was very humid. The pool only went to five feet, no deeper. The beds were too hard for us. Other than that, our experience was very good. The waffle bar was AWESOME!!! People are very friendly in San Diego.

  As a single mom this place was great because it had a refridgerator and microwave so we didn't have to eat at restaurants all the time. Plus it was right across the street from a grocery store and had a walgreens on the same block for all your bottled water needs. The staff was VERY helpful! The directions to get to both seaworld and the zoo are simple and easy since they are both 5-10 minutes away. Great deals all the way around, my child loved it!
