  All of the rooms have been upgraded and the rates are competitive for Santa Barbara. All the rooms & office enclose a courtyard with landscaping & the pool/spa making it seem very private with the cars & traffic out of view. The rooms seem very quite; however, being an upgraded property they are relatively small which is fine for a few days but maybe not for a week as storage for clothing is limited to a hanging closed with a shelf above and lacks drawers for other items. Staff is friendly & helpful and the continental breakfast is excellent as are the wine, cheese & cookies provided later in the day - sitting outside in the garden are or by the pool is vey comfortable and makes up for the small room. From the hotel its a half-mile walk to downtown or the pier and only about 3 blocks to the beach.

  Place is overpriced for what you receive. The rooms are postage stamp size. Two people can bearly fit in the bathroom together. We had mold on the shower head. Not the greatest neiborhood. Lousy parking if you can get it. We paid over two hundred a night plus city taxes. We booked for two nights and if we could have canceled the second night without loosing our money we would have. Terrible place. Stayed there 8/29/2008 & 8/30/2008. Richard & Elizabeth Vals

  It was exactly what we were looking for. Walking distatnce to everything, not too dressy, but nice and casual setting. The only set back was the electricity went out. But it had nothing to do with the hotel itself. There was a car accident in front of the hotel causing the propblem. The staff was freindly and the room was clean.

  The hotel loaction is a few blocks from the harbor. There is a nice courtyard and small pool area. The rooms were a bit dated but clean. Santa Barbara is expensive, and this is a great hotel for a night or two.
