  This Marriott was at a perfect location for eveything! The Fisherman's Warf was a short walk away(a few blocks) and Downtown Monterey was right there. Our room had a great view of the bay although we had to drive to get there. That was fine though it was a very short drive. Our room was great, two large comfortable queen beds with a clean and stocked bathroom. When we asked for a refrigerator it came without trouble. The pool was wonderful, it's heated and great for young children who are learning how to swim. (it is no deeper than 3 1/2 feet) Very friendly service including the vallet. We would definitly stay at this hotel again!

  We recently stay for two nights as part of the annual Great Wine Escape Weekend event, repeating a similar getaway from the previous year. The service and location made our stay outstanding... if you are embarking on one of the wine tours - the coaches pick up passengers here. Also, the Hidden Gems event is held here too. Special thanks to the concierge and hospitality staff for making our stay comfortable and unique. Our special amenities were carried out to our specific request, and our every wish was their command. Hope to be back in Nov 2009 for another great weekend of exciting wine and food discoveries. Please note: While the in-house sports lounge was a lot of fun -- don't miss the Crown and Anchor English pub across the street. Look for the stand up beefeater out on the walk!

  Just got back from Monterey and found our room there was a bit small and bathroom underwhelming for the $* special from a website. Comfortable Bed furnishings nicely done but the easy chair looked dusty/lightly soiled. Check-in quick and easy in a location in the heart of revitalized downtown Monterey. Lobby well furnished with polished wood and marble. Very attentive valet staff but I parked on the street to save $8.00 and the time. Bathroom was sort of Best Western style (three stars) and cramped. It really is 3.5 stars in our case. The Marriott in Victoria Canada was really much more posh with larger rooms and beautiful large bathroom. (with working exhaust) I would go back but only for a good price. Great town to visit. Walking to Fisherman's Warf, Old Town and many entertainment and food venues. Try Paris Cafe for excellent breakfast, French pastries and busy locals scene.

  Our room was very clean and spacious. We stayed in an "Elite Room" whatever that means, so maybe it was a little bigger than most. There were 2 nice fluffy bathrobes hanging in the closet. The floor was very clean, I was comfortable walking around the room barefoot. The beds were too soft and wobbly. The windows must have been very thin, during the night we could hear people talking and laughing seemingly from the street outside. The view of the bay was great, however. Room service (dinner and breakfast) was quick and the food was excellent. We had trouble accessing the on demand video games and movies in our room, but a technician was sent up right away to try to fix it. He was not able to fix the problem and told us that he was going to have to call the cable company. We were not able to watch an on demand movie that night, and imagine our surprise when we received our statement under the door in the morning and saw that we had been charged for a movie! The only other thing we didn't like about the hotel was that there was no self parking, only valet. It would have been nice if they had an indoor pool, since it was so cold and windy. Location is close to Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row area. I think the room was a little too expensive, but if you want a nice 4 star hotel it seems this is the only one closet to the aquarium area.
