  Excellent location, three blocks from MB Aquarium, just off a wonderful bike path, two blocks from public beach and park.Not flashy or luxurious by any means, just nice, simple, clean quiet rooms with comfortable beds, staff were very helpful, especially the Indian gentleman who checked us in during the afternoon. Hot breakfast in the lobby, typical buffet style but good quality. We have three kids under 7 and this place was perfect for us. We have stayed here twice, we just made reservations for a third stay, and will likely stay here again as long as the service and room cleanliness are maintained at their current high standards.

  Excellent location, three blocks from MB Aquarium, just off a wonderful bike path, two blocks from public beach and park.Not flashy or luxurious by any means, just nice, simple, clean quiet rooms with comfortable beds, staff were very helpful, especially the Indian gentleman who checked us in during the afternoon.   I picked this hotel because it had a decent price, was near major attractions and had good reviews. The exterior and interior courtyard has beautiful flowers/landscaping. The lobby is nice and has the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast area with lots of choices: scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls, juices, coffee, fruit and more. Lobby internet computer w/ printer plus Internet access in rooms. USA Today paper available at front desk. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds and pillows. It has free below-ground parking and it's an easy walk to Cannery Row, the Montery Bay Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. Compared to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Pacifica, CA, which I stayed at earlier on my vacation, this one did not have a kitchenette in the room, but the front desk arranged to have a refrigerator brought in upon request. The rooms are technically on the outside of the building (not accessed through interior corridors) but they all open to the beautiful central courtyard, so they seemed safer than normal "outside door" hotels, which I try to avoid. Our room was on the ground floor on the corner, so we got more traffic noise than some other rooms probably do, but it wasn't excessive. My suggestion is to always travel with ear plugs, just in case.

  The hotel was perfect for our little vacation getaway. The free breakfast was terrific with so many choices. Having wine and cheese in the afternoon was a good way to relax before dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful; they had great suggestions for nearby dinner locations . Leaving our car in the parking lot and walking to various sites was a treat. We loved the Aquarium with the many activities for children.
