  Hotel staff were extremely kind and efficient with the check in & out process. Should have read the fine print closer before booking as there was a $parking fee! Had I known this, I would have spent the extra $ on upgrading to the hotel with free parking and continental breakfast and saved us even more. The hotel itself is older, but the rooms are very clean. There is no A/C, just box fans, but they worked just fine for coolling off. The hallways were a little eerie, not well lit and bright blue walls- could use a little maybe a good vacuum. This would be fine for a business stay or just somewhere to sleep. I do not recommend for a family weekend away, as the rooms were pretty small.

  The hotel was clean. there was construction going on but this did not affect us in any way. the beds were comfortable, and the room was large enough for 3 ...

  the hotel was clean. there was construction going on but this did not affect us in any way. the beds were comfortable, and the room was large enough for 3 teenagers(one slept on the floor in a bed roll) and they all were very comfortable. Breakfast was available on-site for purchase and was freshly made(pancakes/fresh fruit/omelets) and was delicious. this place was no frills but was fine: clean,secure. On-site parking was $* overnight. Downtown Portland is easily reached by driving over one if several bridges.

  Didn't spend much time in the room, since they don't provide heat unless the outside temperature is below 55F. Dingy carpet color that doesn't match walls makes it seem dirty when it might not be. Cramped, but adequate amenities. Best feature is location: across from the Convention Center and the free light rail into downtown or Lloyd Center.

  This hotel is in a great location for many Portland activities, and the staff are great at helping one find discounts when one is a business traveller. But...disabled parking for guests is in a dark basement area in which one has to use a card key or buzz the front desk (up one level) to get in...it can be quite unnerving after dark if one uses a wheelchair. The front desk staff are great, and I can't say enough about the accessibility of my room in comparison to several I'd stayed in during recent days (I was on a rigorous tour). There were more bars in the bathroom than most prisons - and actually well-placed, which I find a rare delicacy. Sink was roll-under and knobs were quad-friendly. There was an actual bathtub (YES!! I HATE when they force us to shower w/ those roll-in abominations...I want a CHOICE!) w/ a sturdy tub seat with a back - AND they'd recognized our need for extra towels w/o my asking! The closet was wheelchair height.
  I do have to agree that it was difficult to regulate the temperature in my room, and (as mine was right above the lobby entrance -231) I could hear everything anyone said from outside my windows, which had no insulation, but did have darkness blinds.
  I would stay here again, mostly because of the great business rate I got and the helpfulness of the staff (they have a security guard on duty in the basement parking after dark, which was very reassuring) and the really good omelet I got from room service!
