  I stayed at the Irvine Doubletree, while attending a class in nearby Laguna Beach. The price as compared to hotels in Laguna beach was much lower than comparable quality hotels. The drive wasn't bad to Laguna. The room had the requested double beds and had very comfortable bedding. There was a reading chair and small desk. Did not try the room service or dining room, but was able to get a small refrigerator in the room for $10/day extra. There was no microwave though, which was a little disappointing, but not horrible, given the low price of the room. The warm cookies were great, as always! The parking was free, which is important to check when staying in CA. I would stay there again... in fact am planning another trip in a few months and after comparing to other hotels, am convinced that this is the best value for my purpose.

  See my previous review. for some reason, the hotel also charge my credit card even though they should not do so because the travel agency already chage me. call travel ...

  See my previous review. For some reason, the hotel also charge my credit card even though they should not do so because the travel agency already chage me. Call travel agency, good service. They called the hotel and ask for refund. and then realize that they also chage the parking which the clerk did not inform us at all when we check in. Very bad business practice.

• Be aware of remodeling

  This hotel is under remodeling on 6th and 7th floor. the first night, we were waken up by sawing, slamming, and all kinds of nosie from right above at 6am ...

  this hotel is under remodeling on 6th and 7th floor. The first night, we were waken up by sawing, slamming, and all kinds of nosie from right above at 6am on Saturday morning. Called the front desk and complaint about it. Five minutes later, the noise did not stop. called again. The staff appolize and said "He can not stop it", talk to manager . " there is nothing she can do at this time". Our kids were crying. So we got up and had a tired and lousy day. We finally got another room on 3rd floor for the next two nights. So be aware of contruction and some staff are not competent at all. and Why at 6AM on Saturday morning. The management team need to rethink about the customer service.

  Great hotel and friendly staff. We had a meeting in Lake Forest and this hotel was a good location for the drive there. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The fantastic Irvine Spectrum Centre is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. We ate there two nights, at Maki Maki and the Fish Market ? both of which we recommend.

  Let's face it, you're unlikely to be here on holiday, so as a business hotel, this place is pretty good. Rooms are quite spacious and very clean. Servicing is good too and reception friendly and helpful. Buffer breakfast not that amazing for close to US$15. Shuttle bus is fine from the hotel, but don't rely on it ever picking you up from anywhere... Overall, good value business hotel and staffed well. Not much competition right in Irvine, but they do a decent job here IMO.
