  I'm picky about clean, mainly, and Avante was very clean. The atmosphere was also soothing and calm, which is what I wanted. Checking in was quick and easy. Bed was very comfortable, decor was simple and fun and not your standard floral ;I don't like floral patterns, so it was nice to stay in a place that wasn't! Amenities were great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel sits right on a busy 6-lane street, and my room was on the front side, I didn't hear traffic. Workout room was a little limited -- treadmill, eliptical, cycle and free weights -- and I would have preferred a music option instead of just a TV, but clean and well kept/supplied. The overall experience was perfect.

• Business Travel at Hotel Avante

  The hotel is located on East El Camino street in Mountain View. The Hotel was very nice. From the outside, it doesn't look like an East Coast hotel that I'm used to, but after walking in the doors, it was nice. The rooms were amazing with flat screen and wired/wireless internet. I didn't use the pool and hot spa, but it looked great also. They had free Wine tasting and happy hour in the lobby. The hotel does NOT have a restaurant but there are some great ones nearby near Castro street. The gym was a bit disappointing, but it suited the need with cardio machines and a few free weights. Overall, I was quite impressed and would stay here again. The hotel was VERY quiet or I was the only one there. The breakfast every morning was very decent. You won't be disappointed for the price and it's easily accessible for 84 and 101.

• Pleasantly Surprised!!!

  I was pleasantly surprised! i usually only stay at fairmonts, four seasons, etc..i'm a real spoiled traveler, i admit it! i was a little nervous when i arrived ...

  I was pleasantly surprised! I usually only stay at Fairmonts, Four Seasons, etc..I'm a real spoiled traveler, I admit it! I was a little nervous when I arrived at the property..and asked the taxi driver to wait while I checked in, because the exterior wasn't impressive at all. Things changed as soon as I walked through the beautiful frosted glass front doors. This is a real classy hotel. The designers obviously had great taste. The lobby is beautiful. I walked in and a bunch of people were sitting around this huge sofa in the lobby drinking wine. The man at the front desk greeted me in a very friendly, welcoming way. I had no problem sending the taxi driver on his way at that point. I swear the beds there are more comfortable than my expensive bed at home. The linens are soft and lush...but simple and classic..There is a true warmth that permeates throughout the hotel. This place is so unique..and I really felt comfortable and welcome.
