    Okay, I looked at some of the reviews and was a little apprehensive but then I thought to myself, at least on Travelocity, there are reviews and I don't have to book the hotel, pay for it in advance like on other travel sites to get a bargain. On a road trip with my teenage daughter - looking a colleges for her to apply in the SO CAL area, and with the gloom and doom of the state budget, the proposed cuts, a good night sleep would at least comfort us if only temporarily from reality that it'll be tough to get into a state school outside our local area in Sacramento. So with a courteous greeting at the front desk of this Good Nite Inn in Sylmar, an upgrade from one queen bed to two, (unlike the previous hotel the night before as we visited a college in Monterey...less than 10 customers in the 32+ rooms and they didn't budge at my hint that if a room was available with two beds, we'd appreciate the upgrade) The clerk at this Good Nite Inn acknowledged my hint -- "No problem, sir" and not only was the room clean, two beds, it was fairly quiet. Yes the walls are paper thin and you do hear freeway noise, and people talking as they walk by but come on....for less than $*......safety, cleanliness and courteous staff...that's all needed for an overnight stay. We had a great meal up the freeway a few miles near Magic Mountain, a movie, a good night sleep, Internet ($* for the day), well rested for our college visit in Northridge & Long Beach the following day and our drive back to Nor CAL -- MONEY WELL SPENT!

    When i arrived the hotel had no record of my res. and the girl was very rude, lucky the manager came up and told her to give me a room ...

    when i arrived the hotel had no record of my res. and the girl was very rude, lucky the manager came up and told her to give me a room and the would clear the matter up with travel online. then the first room I was put in the tv did not work and they then put me in another room which was fine.

    This is a small hotel off the highway. The staff was a bit slow at check-in, we were tired and just wanted to get some sleep before having to hit the road again. The bed was comfortable than expected. Room was basic, nothing extra. The complimentary breakfast was simple; muffins, coffee, and juice. Overall I was satisfied with my stay and would stay there again if travelling through that area.

    This was my second stay here and the experience was not so good. The office staff is great, friendly and helpful but not as effective as they could be. The room was not OK. To get hot water (after it was "fixed) was tenuous to say the least and not enough pressure to get hair rinsed well. There wasn't a chair, seriously, no chair? The price allows me 2 nights and location makes it the perfect midway between my daughter's college and her brother's home. I will probably stay there again BUT will ask to see the room first. You get what you pay for.

    the worst hotel!The beds were like sleeping on a concrete floor. You only get shampoo and soap once during your visit. We stayed three nights and the only time we got shampoo and soap was when we first checked in. One room key too... making it difficult for you to leave your group, when multiple people in one room. The water kept going hot to cold, and by the third day we figured out you had to play with valve to get water consistent. We had gotten two rooms for our large party and the other room smelled horrible....not sure if it was smoke in a non smoking room or just must...but it was bad. This hotel needs some serious maintenance. But for $ a night I guess you get what you pay for. I certainly would have been more upset had the price been more. The front desk was courteous, but with only one person there when we checked in, we waited quite some time to be taken care of, the phones kept ringing and the poor girl seemed a little frazzled. Perhaps more help is needed here. But she was still very kind to us. The rooms seemed clean despite the lack of care with maintenace problems and the walls are very thin.
