  This hotel is great for families. The heated pool is awesome even on cold days. The rooms are older but very clean! Cleaner bathrooms than what I have seen in much more expensive hotels. The beds have down comforters and pillows that are great! Loved the location, close to Universal, highways and everything. Having the Ralphs grocery, Coffee Bean and Tea, etc in walking distance was a plus. We will stay here every time we are in LA. *they should renovate and add family suites!!!*

  I recently had the dubious honor of attending a weekend long event at this hotel, which I then extended to a 9-day stay. While I do have to honestly say the pool area was beautiful, I can't find anything else good to say about them. While the staff was very friendly, they couldn't get anything correct, from room reservations, to parking fees, to the free wi-fii, to orders at the hotel bar and restaurant. We had to constantly keep calling and asking for different things that were already supposed to be there, and reminding them that free parking and wi-fi was included in our package. For the actual charity event, the rooms were not set up and ready when they were supposed to be, the equipment we had reserved was not there, the food was not even the food we had ordered, and then afterwards they tried to actually add more charges on to the bill by claiming we had 15 more people there eating than we actually did, even though they never had to bring out any extra food, and nobody extra showed up, they insisted that we had more people there than we did and they were going to charge us for them. We finally got them to agree to take 5 people off of the bill, but we were still overcharged. The rooms were clean and not bad looking, but they were a little bit worn, none of the toilets flushed correctly, you always had to flush at least twice, the restrooms in the hotel lobby were actually closed for 3 entire days while I was there. All in all, I wouldn't recommend staying here for anything.

  It wasn't the best, but not too bad that I wouldn't stay again if I had to. It was under renovations at the time i was there and so I have to take that into account. they started charging for parking because they said that it's safe so we should pay for it. Of cousre when my rental got keyed they said that it's not secure it's park at your own risk. In other words parking on the street is just as safe.. which by the way there is lots of street parking so you can save yourself some money. The restaurant is YUK... I visited a detention center not too long ago that had better seating and looked cozier (if you can imagine that) the service was very terrible... I think that the waitresses should reconsider their career choice. The room itself was very nice and very clean.. i paid for a poolside view which I was told later that just because i booked it, it doesn't mean I will actually get it... in other words it depends on which site you went to to get your deal (package) if you went to travel website you will be bumped down to the last priority of your booked poolside room because you may have paid less for it. Of course I did that... (I wanted the deal after all) so my poolside became null and void. janitors and maids were very nice.

  It wasn't the best, but not too bad that I wouldn't stay again if I had to. It was under renovations at the time i was there and so I have to take that into account. they started charging for parking because they said that it's safe so we should pay for it.   Out-dated decor and facilities + problems + pricey = you can do better, keep looking. We stayed there for a special event and brought in lots of out-of-town guests. Despite arranging everything months in advance, it was a constant stream of problems, large and small, for us and our guests, and it ended up being a bit of an embarrassment for us. On the heels of every hassle was an unhelpful staff person to add insult to injury. This former Valley landmark now apparently earns its $$ housing film crews - their trucks filled the lots before and after our stay. And now serving tourists or public guests - even sizable groups - doesn't seem to be a priority for them. There are great places to stay all over L.A.! I know, I live here. Keep looking and you'll find one
