  We were quite happy with the hotel especially for the rate Travelocity obtained. The staff were very friendly (especially the breakfast hostess) and the room was clean and comfortable. One of the best surprises was their breakfast. A lot of hotels include a 'Continental' breafast but Shilo's was what I'd call a full breakfast buffet. In our limited travels, this was very nice. We didn't have time to partake in the pools, both indoor and out, but they looked very inviting. The grounds were very well maintained and over all, it was a wonderful place to stay. If you have small children, there isn't any play areas but then again, this isn't a resort. If you're on vacation and intend to spend a lot of time at the hotel, which we didi not, then perhaps this is not the place for you. Otherwise, we stayed at a resort on our last visit and, for the money, this was every bit as nice. We'll definently stay there again and, in fact, look forward to our next trip back out to Bend.

  We were greatly surprised when we checked in. We were given a beautiful river front room upgrade with a fireplace. The business traveler in the group was extremely thankful for the extraordinary view and the resort feeling. While the hotel is older it was clean with charm, great shower, had a great breakfast buffet and friendly staff. The pools looked great but we did not have time to enjoy them.

  The Inn has been in Bend for a number of years and is getting a little worn, but clean. We soon learned that our reasonably priced King Bed Suite was not a suite. It was one room with a small table and two chairs. The front desk arranged a staff member to show us around at other units for possible future selections. They have may combinations, sizes, and some on the river. If you look at their web site, you can get an idea of the offerings. The included buffet breakfast was good and had a nice selection of items to chose from.

  WELL, for starters after reading the other reviews i was rather surprised with the comments because i noticed quite the opposite on my last recent stay at the Shilo Inn. With such a large family they accomedated us rather well. We found that the 3 rooms we had were in different areas and asked if we could have them closer under the cirrcumstances of our stay and they were reluctant to adjust the locations of our rooms. When I called for room service/guest service, the service was rather quick. I feel they provided excellent customer service. And the property location was fantastic! That, being my first time in Oregon, i was pleased with the outcome of my stay and I will definately be returning.

  I over all was not happy with my stay. As a women traveling alone I was uncomfortable with the sercurity. No inside privacy locks. I had very poor lighting in my room, no over head lights. The cleaning service did not do a good job, did not even show up one day. When I called the front dest to complain they offered clean towel if needed & said they would note it. When I asked to upgrade my room I was shown a room that took a long dark walk down a outdoor walk way to get to. I would have had to park quite aways from my room. I decined my room. The Hot tubs were not working... something a found out after going after trucking down to the indoor pool building. The hot tubs were my main reason for using the Shilo. Room service was poor... pizza arriving cold and 1 hr late. On a good note I found the staff was very friendly & the fireplace in the room was nice.
