A very enjoyable, although brief, stay at the Ashland Springs Hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast much more than we expected. We'll definitely plan to make this our stopover spot en route to/from Portland. The renovation is tasteful and the hotel feels elegant, but cozy.

Park your car and enjoy Ashland. You can walk everywhere. Theatres, shops, park, pubs. The hotel is a gem. One feels they are back to a more genteel time. Botanical and biological displays and collections worthy of a museum. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. It is well worth the price. A bargin.

My wife, the dog and I stayed here one night on our way home from Eugene, Or.The reviews and pictures looked great and the "pets welcome" feature made the deal. We arrived and initially liked what we saw,a grand Hotel that was still holding true to hotels of it's era, what a beautiful lobby! We checked in at the front desk(no help was offered with our bags),parked and entered the hotel through a back enterance that lead directly to the 3rd floor designated as "pet friendly".As soon as we opened the door we were bombarded with that over powering nervous dog smell like at the Vetrinarians office .Our dog immidately started shaking like he does at the vets office. We got to our room,it did not smell as bad as the hall but still smelled of pet odor. The "view" was of a rooftop exhaust hood that's incesent drone ended up keeping me awake all night. The furniture in the room was quite worn(not antiques! Just worn out.)the shower was tiny(no tub),the room seemed somewhat dirty and no coffee pot in sight We were exhausted and didn't want to make a fuss so we stayed and did not complain.I mentioned this to the folks at the front desk and their response was "that's because they're antiques!".We happen to know a bit about antiques and this establishment isn't taking very good care of theirs. I again asked for further compensation for our bad experience and was coldly handed the business card of the Hotel Manager.

This hotel is like stepping back in time, except with all the modern amenities. I travelled with my 12 year old who was excited to stay in such a historic building; we both were instantly comforted and calmed by the tranquility in the room, majestic furnishings and sweeping views. What an experience. I've never been impressed by a hotel's continental breakfast, but this was fabulous, and the shower..........mmmmmmm! Down pillows and comforter, bamboo mirror and writing desk, roomy closet and huge tiled bathroom. The elegance and grandeur in the lobby, the beautiful ballrooms, courtyard garden, Shakespearean mural in the stairwell........inspires dreams of opulent european travels. Free parking was a plus, and being literally steps away from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival grounds made things so easy. Add to that a plethora of eclectic restaurants and boutique shopping in a jewel of a town nestled amongst green rolling hills and home to beautiful Lithia Park, .........my best vacation ever. Can't wait to go back.
