  I would stay in Old Montreal anyday over downtown. The location is excellent. Not far from a tube station and a 5 min walk to Notre Dame, this hotel is convenient, clean and the hotel staff are quite helpful. There is free internet connection in the room. Did not get a chance to use anything else as there is so much to do in Montreal. This hotel is also close to the cruises that you can do along the river. O yeah helpful to have the kitchen as well. Taxi ride from the airport is about CAD*. There is no easy way to use the train.

  Spring Hill Suites is a modern hotel in the heart of Old Montresl. It is steps from all the major attractions in this district. The hotel itself is clean and quiet ;it's located on a side street the rooms are nicely laid out with sitting areaand desk if you're on business& and bedroom area. The beds are comfortable, Staff is helpful and courteous. Breakfast included in room rate offers standard buffet make your own waffles; cereals; eggs and accompaniments coffee was good. The breakfast area is a little crowded at prime time, but an additional room was opened up on a busy Sunday morning& Our room had no view facing an office building across a narrow street&. The"work out room' is minimal. We had a good stay and recommend the hotel. The old city neighborhood has many fine and expensive restuarants and is busy with street life on weekends. On weekdays the ambience is quieter.

  Springhill Suites in Old Montreal is one of our favorite sites to visit. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The elevator was having a problem while we were there, but the desk person took us to the delivery elevator so we wouldn't have to climb the stairs. We asked for wine glasses and they were delivered to the door within seconds of us arriving in the room. They were very knowledgeable about restaurants in the area. The cleaning staff was excellent. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The pool and exercise room is quite small, but it also was not overrun with children. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return next winter.

  Stayed here for my wife's 60th birthday. We often stay at SpringHills and found this hotel to be comparable with upscale Marriott properties. My wife has asthma, and this hotel was impeccably clean and well run. The location (in Old Montreal, and literally steps from numerous sites & restaurants) is excellent. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was superior. We will definitely return.
