    The hotel was quite and clean and the staff very friendly. I stayed 3 nights and would stay again. The area is nice and there are lots of restaurants located close by and the beach is just a few blocks away. The room had dated furniture but the beds were really comfortable and the carpet was new. I likes that instead of a gross old bed spread they wrapped the blanket in sheets so you know it's clean! There were plenty of pillows and I slept great every night. The pool is small but clean and warm, the spa was nice after a long day and I used it every night. It was pretty much exactly what I would expect from a Best Western. There is a Pancake restaurant just a block or so down that had the BEST pancakes and omelettes! Next time I have to visit the LA area I will probably stay here again.

    Front desk staff very knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. We stayed only 3 nights (first time in LA). Ocean beach is within walking distance. Hotel is located in a very nice area. The front desk staff gave us excellant recomendations for dining and sightseeing, printed maps etc. Room was very clean and tidy. Rates are very competitive with other hotels nearby. If we ever come here again we will definately book our stay at this hotel.

    What can I say, the room was clean though dated, maid service was slow and unattentive, the a/c in the room took 4 hours to cool the room down, the pool was dirty although comfortably warm, and the restaraunt had very quick service, and palatible fair. Our friends stayed at the Hermosa Suites at the corner of Sepulveda and Artesia Blvd., much newer, ocean views, and only $* per night more than we paid. And our instructor stayed at the Portofino Inn, which is very dated, unkept, and over $* more per night. Overall I would give this establishment an 2 out of 5, but can't really recommend based on our experience.

    This hotel was perfect for our family. I cannot say enough about the service from the front desk staff ;amazingly helpful and pleasant, to the service staff. The rooms were clean, comfortable, roomy, and so tastefully decorated. We reccomend the interior entrance room if one is available. Tiny drawbacks were: there is no restaraunt after 5pm ;breakfast and lunch only...but still good!. They have a loung, but it was more like a loft with a couch and a small bartop...not a wide variety of liquor, but pleasant service all the same. Also, the pool is small, but that was fine because the patio it is on is cozy and comfortable. Overall, everyone was happy. My mother enjoyed herself, and our two kids had a blast. My husband and I had a romantic weekend as well. We loved this hotel and cant wait to go back.

    I ended up booking this hotel after much searching; wanted to be somewhere nice, but not right in Hollywood. Was going to go to CBS to attend Price is Right Tapings, which I did. Note: This is not near CBS - it's about a 1/2 hour drive in non-rush hour - but I knew this. Wanted to be away from the high priced hustle bustle for the time I wasn't at CBS. Arrived late at night, but staff pleasant. There are two different types of rooms (at least two). Room I had was adequate - outside entrance, clean comfortable, met my needs. There were other rooms in first building that appear to be the ones pictured here - with patio door and an entrance from inside. I was a bit surprised how the hotel was set up - different than I pictured with two types of rooms. I would book an inside room entrance in future. Aside from that, was a pleasant stay. Was out of room for most of first two or three days with all day at CBS. Restaurant staff on days I used it - X I believe her name is (Korean lady)- very pleasant, good value for meal. I thought she owned restaurant, but turns out to be a long time employee she said. She and colleague very helpful with area info. Pool was small but nice. They were doing upgrades on many rooms while I was there (mattresses, carpets)- but done in daytime. I would stay there again, nice area, close to beach, mall next door with Long drugs, restaurants so if you need something near by. Felt safe in area. Staff made my stay very pleasant. Well done!
