I truly enjoyed my stay at the Peery. This is a historical hotel, so the room and bathroom are on the small size. Very quaint and homelike. They also have Tempurpedic beds and down filled pillows. It made for a very good night's sleep. Christopher's has a nice dinner special for $28 if ordered before 6:30 PM. Highly recommend this property.

My wife and I have stayed at the Peery for three nights on a vacation. The hotel staff was friendly. The rooms and public areas were clean. Much of the reality is significantly different from the web presentations. 1.The neighborhood is reasonably convenient, but is marked by empty buildings and an assortment of beggars, derelicts, and homeless. It is not an environment that lets you feel safe in the evening. 2.If Macaroni Grill is gourmet dining to you, then you will be satisfied by the few restaurants near the hotel. 3.The limited coffee/tea service in the lobby is only in the morning. There is no coffee/tea in the rooms. 4.The “Classic King” rooms are little larger than the bed. There is no space to even open a full sized suitcase other than on the bed. 5. The baths in“Classic King” rooms do not have a tub, shower only. The bathrooms are little larger than converted closets. I called the shower a safety shower because it was so small there was not enough room to fall. The baths have pedestal sinks because there is room for nothing larger. In some rooms, there is not room for a sink in the bath; it is found in the bedroom. 6.The hallways and rooms have inexpensive carpet over squeaky wooden floors. Avoid a room near a particularly noisy area. 7.The drop ceilings in the hallways are a suspended grid with drop in tiles with a poor imitation of old pressed tin tiles. The remodeling of the hotel almost appears to be an amateur effort with primary attention to “flash” such as “gold” plated faucets and not to period authenticity or quality. 8.Parking is available on two sides of the hotel-- less than 50 feet to the front door. “Self” parking costs $ per day payable to the hotel, NOT the automated parking kiosks you first encounter in the parking lot. Money paid to the automated kiosks is not recognized by the hotel. Valet parking is said to be available for an additional daily fee. A valet was rarely seen.

This historic hotel was a true delight! The location was great, close to the center of the city. The room was comfortable and quiet. The desk service was polite and helpful. We have been in many hotels in recent years all around the globe and this would rank among the best. If we make our way back to Salt Lake City, we'll definitely stay here again.

This is an amazing place. This hotel was built around 1910 and has been restored to it's former charm and grand style. According to information at the hotel it is the only property in the state of Utah that is on the Historic Hotels of America. I have been to several other old restored hotels that are part of the Historic Hotels of America, and the Peery is one of the best. The bed was excellent. The hotel was within close walking distance to downtown. It was within a block of a very fine steakhouse located in the Hilton. Parking was by pass in a lot across the street. The room had a very nice bath. It had the wash basin out in the bedroom, which was like it would have been long ago. The down conforter was nice and the pillows were very nice down. All in all a very romantic location. My wife liked it nearly as much as the Strater Hotel in Durango. We would stay there again.

This visit to SLC was a working vacation with little time spent in the hotel, however, it was a pleasure to return in the evening to a clean, comfortable suite with a very comfortable bed. The morning papers and the coffee (sometimes very weak) were appreciated, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were a plus. Would stay there again if the price is right.
