To sum it up, I would stay here again for the following reasons: the location CANNOT be beat. You are literally 1-2 minutes away from the top of the Spanish Steps, 5 minutes from Villa Borghese, 7 mins to Trevi Fountain and 25-30 minute (leisurely) walk to the Vatican. I would recommend that you buy the best pair of walking shoes that you can afford because you will want to be sure to take in the glorious city of Rome...and that is best done on foot. There are a lot of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Here are the details of our stay: We stayed 2 nights at the Intercontinental middle of July 2009, peak season. The hotel is unimpressive from the outside and the hotel lobby is small and outdated. The gentleman at the check-in counter was very accomodating and allowed us to check in at 10AM since we had an early flight into Rome. The bell staff and concierge were not very friendly. We stayed on the 6th floor overlooking the inner courtyard, it was a nice view from our balcony. The room was small, mustly and WAY overpriced, even for European standards. The bathroom size & amenities were nothing to complain or rave about. The bed was not the most comfortable, however, after a long day of walking around in Rome I slept throught the night without any problems. Although I was disappointed with the room, we did not spend much time in it. I have to compliment the wait staff, quality of breakfast buffet & ambiance of the restaurant located on the 2nd floor. I actually looked forward to mornings because of the wonderful breakfast. After just eating at the restaurant once, the waiter remembered our drinks from the morning prior...I was impressed!

First off, this hotel is absolutely beautiful and located near the Spanish Steps. For those of us Americans who speak only English, all of the employees speak wonderful English and that makes it easy to have no language barriers. We stayed at this hotel before and after our cruise around Italy for our Honeymoon. The first stay we had issues getting our Itinerary for the cruise and the Duty Manager X saw our distress and helped us get access to what we needed within minutes. It was wonderful which gave us time to explore before we had to leave the following day. First let me say that (Duty Manager) is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. During our second stay in Rome after our cruise my husband got food poisoning. When my husband?s illness was getting worse Giacomo came to our room to check on my husband. They provided us with a thermometer to check his temperature. X suggested a doctor to come and he found us an English speaking doctor to come to the room and check out my husband. As well as sent out to get us the prescriptions that we needed and brought them to our room. X made sure to check on us before he left for the evening as well as the staff would call up to make sure my husband was doing all right. X sent us a gift to our room to make us as comfortable as we could possibly be in the situation that we were in. Also the concierges were amazing anything that we needed they got for us. Also the concierges checked on us to make sure my husband?s health was okay. There are so many amazing, wonderful people who work at this hotel. Not only is it hotel beautiful and the food delicious but you cannot get any better customer service anywhere. Absolutely Amazing!!! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the employees. If you are looking for a place to stay make this hotel your choice.
