  The Hotel Istana was very beautiful on the outside and when you walk in the door. When I made it to my room, I had a big spacious room however, there is no decor. The entire room was white and my sheets on the bed was not clean. Or at least I beleive. I dont think they use bleach. My sheets and comforter had stains on them and I had them removed immediately. Housekeeping did replace them. I had problems with the toilet. It doesnt flush well at all. Hardly no pressure so you are constantly trying to flush. The breakfast food in the dining facility was actually good and a great selection. I didn't like the spa so much. I had to have them replace my pillow and towel. They were not clean in the spa. The spa service was okay but not great. So for my next spa treatment, I went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel where the service I received was excellent. However, Hotel Istana is in a pretty decent location where you can walk around to many shops. A lot of stores were pretty close. I would rate this hotel as a 3 1/2 star. Also, watch out for the taxi drivers. The taxi drivers are not honest. They really do try to cheat you. Some don't even cut the meter on and over charge you especially if you are traveling by yourself. Most things are close so you dont have to use a taxi. But there are places you may want to go and my suggestion is that if you use a taxi, only choose the taxi driver who looks at least over 50. They seem to be the most honorable and do not attempt to cheat you. No middle age or younger taxi drivers.
