After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant about staying although I booked anyway. I was surprised to find a nicer room than I expected. I was unused to a small casino/hotel, but actually enjoyed not being in the crowds as we were there for my daughters 21st bday. An honest employee turned in my "lost" cell phone. The only drawback is the very slow elevators when hotel is busy.

Stayed the night on Nov 22, 09. Room good but the $* Free Slot Play is a load of BS. They give you $* on a roped off section of slots which only pay on the top 2 jackpots. Almost impossible to win. Not worth what they advertise. I would rather get $* Free Slot Play to use on any machine in casino. I was suppose to stay 2 nights but stayed only 1 because of their false impressions on the slot play. I didn't spend a dime in the casino on poker, table games, slots, food or anything else for that matter. Walked down the street to NY, NY and Monte Carlo and spent my money in their casinos. I won't stay at Hooter's again. Could have stayed else where cheaper. Don't considere free slot play when booking it is a joke.

I went to Vegas to watch some racing and left Houston early to get to the track by 10am. Picked Hooters because they were offering $* to play slots. Room rate was similar to most of the other nicer hotels. I needed to drop off my luggage and go to the track to see the race. There was one snotty girl behind the counter that was anything but your typical Hooters girl. She immediately told me I did not have a reservation although I showed her my confirmation. She said it was not her problem and I would have to contact travel agency. I asked her if I could simply get a room and fix this later. She said no and that she could not register me till 4pm. What???? I said can you hold my bags and I could return later and she said no. I then called travel agency and they said they had faxed my registration earlier in the week but would do it again. 45 minutes later and after watching other disgusted registrants I got my room. I stayed at Hooters for 3 nights. When you walk through the casino the glued down wood floor is spongy beneath your feet and is a trip hazard in areas where it is broken in places. The stairs to the rooms are carpeted and look like they have not been swept in years. The room is the ultimate in truck stop fashion with sold pine everywhere and 10 cheap picture with hooters promotions. There is a round bar table with two bar stools in the corner with a bucket of hot water bottles saying buy me. The internet was $* per day and the $* slot promotion was a SCAM. Get this....you get a card for $* in slot play but you dont get to keep the money if you win any. In fact if you win a jackpot ($*) you get $*. If I had known that I would have gone somewhere else! I missed the race I came to Vegas to watch and I was disgusted with the hotel and casino. I am usually willing to stay or put up with anything but I strongly recommend you pay a little more if you have to and stay somewhere else in Las Vegas.

I recently stayed at the Hooter Casino located just off strip behind the MGM Grand, Hooters is a relatively small casino with an ok atmosphere and adequate facilities. The room was clean and confortable and great value at a third of the price of strip hotels. The use of the corporate orange in the room was a bit much, but the decor was more down to earth anyway. No HBO on TV which is a bit cheap. The service in the Dan Marino is slow and the food not too exciting, i did not eat in the Hooters part so I can't comment. The "free" comedy show was a hoot and the $* free slots a nice gimmick. My only real complaint was the service at the main Lobby. There was almost always a line up at most times of the day but they usually had only one person on duty and could take a LONG time to check in or out. The pool area is ok with not such I nice view and all the staff are generally helpful if a little laid back. The Hooter Girls are lovely but I have to say lacking in personally compared to most hooters I have been to. All in all I would recommend this hotel for someone looking to be close to the strip, but with a limited budget. Note I had friends staying at Luxor and Mandelay bay, both with room issues. My stay went without any issues.
