  Why travel website rates this hotel four stars is beyond me; the hotel rooms are absolutely horrible. After calling the front desk to complain about the ugly room they upgraded me to a "nicer" room at my expense. It was little better than the first. The new rate was $* per night. A quick online check revealed that the penthouse at the Bellagio was only about * dollars more. The quality of the rooms at the NY are about what you would expect at a very low end motel. save your money stay somewhere else.

  This was mine and my sister's first visit to Vegas and we were thrilled with our hotel stay at NYNY from start to finish. The room was roomy, clean, comfortable. The water was hot and the shower had great water pressure. The safe was a great bonus. Even though our room faced the Strip directly across from the MGM and was parallel to the top of the roller coaster, noise was not a factor! Could not even hear the roller coaster anywhere in the hotel. Never had to wait for an elevator. Check-in and out was a breeze and all employees were very nice including the bell service to store our luggage until our flight time. Would definitely recommend this hotel! The breakfast buffet was fabulous and so was the fish and chips. We probably toured the best hotels on the strip and still loved NYNY the best!

  The staff was nice. the room was quite. the bed was comfy. the dueling piano bar was great and so was coyote ugly. zumanity was an amazing show. great trip!

  My husband and I spent a week at this hotel for his birthday; we reserved a room for our grown kids also. We were encouraged to upgrade ($$) to the "nicer, newly updated" rooms when we checked in They were NOT updated; they looked 40 years old. The pool and hot tub closes at 5 pm, so when your feet are hurting from walking all day, don't count on a nice soak! They have the TIGHTEST slot machines in Vegas, and if that wasn't bad enough, the vending machine on our floor sucked our money out too without giving us our drinks. The showerhead barely put out any water, our safe didn't work, so we had to keep our cash locked in our kids' room. My daughter and I BOTH came home with bug bites all over our legs from our rooms. I don't know if it's fleas or what, but we're COVERED!!! We spent a week there and it started with 1 or 2 bites, then got worse from there. The guys weren't affected due to them wearing jeans all the time, but we wore capris. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Pay a little bit extra, and I do mean a little bit, and go first class.....The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the cleaning ladies do a GREAT job. They were very accommodating.
