I enjoyed staying at the Hilton Chicago, we were very lucky to get a room with a partial view of the lake and a view of the Sears Tower. It was close to the major downtown attractions we walked everywhere we wanted to go. We did take a bus tour that told about the interesting history of the hotel. My only complaints is that the parking fee was outrageous! $* for 24 hours. Also the hotel restaurant was so expensive it wasn't worth trying. Breakfast for an omlette was $*. I couldn't bring myself to pay that. But all in all the hotel was very nice, and the bed's were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

On July 17th thru July 18th, my husband and I stayed at this hotel to attend the Chicago Blackhawk’s Convention. During our stay we were very unhappy with some of the service we received from their security. We had a guest that night for 20 to 35 minutes who was also staying there on 12th floor and according to the security we were loud. We immediately ask our guest to leave after 10 minutes and the security came back again (he was only around the corner waiting for the guest to leave) knocked the door for the second time and banging on the door really loud. We booked this hotel for 3 days and we checked out at 3:45 am that next day due to this incident and had to find another hotel to stay in the middle of the night. We left because we were tired of getting harassed by the security. We will not be staying at Hilton Chicago Hotel in the future

I stayed at the Hilton Chicago last week and was very disappointed. The highlight of the stay was waiting 20 minutes for a bellman to come and get our luggage. Finally, my 72 year old mother, 8 year old son, and myself gave up and dragged it all down to valet parking ourselves - no easy task. The security guard was kind enough to hold the door for me. The valet parking attendants looked over and then ignored us. As far as I could tell, he was just standing there doing nothing. I couldn't let go of the bags without everything falling so I gave my son the parking receipt. The attendant pointed to where our car was parked - no short distance away. My 8 year old had to tell him to pull it up. They should have been ashamed. Less significant, but irritating issues. The pool is part of the Hilton Athletic club. Two lanes are reserved for adults wanting to lap swim. Basically, two adults can take up 2/3rds of the pool while everyone else is consigned to the leftover 1/3rd. This is ridiculous and very family unfriendly. In addition, the pool closes at 9 p.m. What pool closes at 9? We stayed for 3 nights. Not one single additional bar of soap, bottle of shampoo, or coffee stirrers.

The Chicago Hilton was beyond lovely. It is a historical place with modern amenities. We walked to all the museums and took inexpensive cab rides to recommended restaurants. The staff was great in helping with these recommendations. I recommend a lake view - it was worth the added expense. Make sure you check out the hotel museum and the Grand Ballroom. It was like a trip to Versailles!

We stayed at this Hilton for the Cubs Convention that was being held there. We were more than willing to pay the price to stay in the Hilton...we understand it is a high end hotel. However, the extra costs that were thrown in here and there were ridiculout. Everything come at a cost: an hour early checkout, bag storage for us to go to lunch in the hotel. On top of all the extra fees, the elevators were beyond slow. There were times that waited 10+ minutes to go down to the lobby. We were on the 16th floor and contiplated taking the stairs on numerous occasions. It was a common complaint of other guests as well. The rooms were nice but not worth the extra fees and waits that came with it. You can find a nicer hotel at a much more reasonable price.
