    Stayed here October 25 - 29, 2009 and was shocked upon arrival; the hotel looked nothing like the grand hotel that was advertised on the internet. In fact, most taxi drivers weren't familiar with the Crowne Plaza because it used to be a Holiday Inn. It would have been helpful in our decision making if the name change had been mentioned in the online advertisement. Although the check in/front desk staff were very professional and helpful, we learned that rooms with views of the grand courtyard advertised online didn't exist and inorder to get a room with a view we had to pay an additional $* per night for a clubhouse room . So much for having a picnic in the park across the street from the hotel; it was mostly occupied with homeless people. Also, there was no room service nor could one obtain a hot meal in the hotel lobby bar after 9:00pm. However, there were quaint taverns /restaurants within walking distance of the hotel that stayed open all night; the food and service at these establishments were excellent.

    Stayed for one week and were impressed with everything! The rooms were wonderful, the daily breakfast is exquisite, and the restaurant on site is superb. It is so much fun to sit in the cocktail lounge looking out on the street and watching the world go by! Beautiful experience!

    The location is excellent and in general terms is a very good hotel,. however, traveling with a minor, i found room service very limited as well as tv offerings.

    We really enjoyed this hotel. a great blend of a historic building, but with updated rooms. the staff was very accommodating. there's a subway entrance right outside the hotel. ...
