Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would have stayed here again except for the location (see below). Pros: Good value for the price; the room was a decent size and the bathroom huge; beds were comfortable. The manager, desk, and restaurant staff went out of their way to be helpful. The dinners in the restaurant downstairs were excellent. The canals are fairly close in one direction; national museums aren't too far in the other. Convenience stores next door and across the street mean you can easily pick up essentials or grab coffee and a roll on your way out in the morning. Cons: Maid service was hit or miss--of the seven nights we stayed, the room was only cleaned thoroughly twice. The location is a bit far off the beaten track for most sightseeing, unless you're good at using the bus system (there are a couple of bus stops close by and a commuter train station three blocks away), which we weren't. Constantly heavy traffic throughout the city means it's easiest to walk most places. On nice days, you won't mind the extra mile to and from the main city hub, but in the pouring rain with taxis scarce, you'll be drowned. If you take the Airlink bus from the airport, getting off at Merrion Square instead of Trinity College will save you about half a mile. When you'll be sightseeing on the north bank, leave the hotel going right, make the first right, and go down to the river. There are several bridges, and it's an easier, quicker, and more pleasant walk than going straight down Pearce St.

  • A decent place to lay your head, but...

It's a clean and secure hotel but rooms are small with limited amenities. Beds were OK. Hotel staff was helpful. A small table and a very uncomfortable lounge chair were not conducive to reading. No complimentary internet access, not even in the business center. There is little to no airflow in the rooms (really could have used a fan). Showers are great but cramped (amazing what a bowed shower curtain rod does to make space). Fitness room had a couple of pieces of cardio equipment (treadmill, cycle & stair stepper) and a weight machine; not bad. The hotel is also a bit far from most attractions (great if you want to do lots of walking.

  • Don't stay here!

Do not go hear, this place is pathetic. The minute we checked into the room we noticed that the TV was damaged and immediately called the front desk to report it. I stressed that I wanted it noted on our account that it was like that when we showed up so that they do not try to charge us. The desk person told us not to worry about it and that he would note it. We get back to the states and find a charge on our account for $150. We called and emailed to complain but they refused to refund the amount. It’s pathetic that they cannot rely on their hotel to produce revenue and have to resort to scamming their customers to make money.
