Even though I booked a pretty good deal for the room, I was upset with myself for not having picked another hotel despite having read a few bad reviewsl. This hotel really needs to be renovated. The detailing and decor is outdated and in many cases poorly constructed. I booked a room with double bed. What I found was that the 2nd bed pulls down from the wall and wasn't as comfortable or clean as the 1st bed. The aluminum bed frame also had some sharp open edges where I scratch my foot trying to get around the bed. When I came into the room the bed was not set up. I got the pillows from the closet which smelled musty. In addition to that the pillows from the closets were clumpy. I called to ask for a FEATHER pillow (like those found on the 1st bed) and housekeeping came back with 2 more clumpy pillows. When I explained again that the pillows were clumpy and that I wanted a feather pillow, the person told me that they didn't have anymore of the feather ones in storage. And when I asked if he could get me a feather pillow from an unoccupied room, I got nothing but a lame excuse. Also, the hotel really isn't very good about replenishing the toiletries. We came back late the 2nd night and found that housekeeping didn't give us any new toiletries. They only gave one set for 3 people the night before. Again when I asked the front desk, the only toiletries they give me were two small bottles of conditioner. This place is so lame. I really don't recommend it.

Clean, decorated in an industrial, art deco motif. Very Chic. Very Courteous staff, 1 1/2 blocks from Union Square. Don't let the lobby fool you, this is an old building apparently renovated from a small 1920's era hotel. Hotel room (611) was a closet. Very small, approx. 14 x 12. Located to rear of building (good thing) due to excessive street noise on front of building. Saw other rooms in passing. They were a bit larger (but not much). Would rate it a C- at best. location was only positive.

I stayed in the Hotel Diva with my two young daughters right before Christmas and the location is so great for all the things we wanted to do. At Hotel Diva you are close to Union Square and we were able to walk from the theater to the hotel (although I don't suggest it for out of towners as the theaters are in rough neighborhoods). I lived in the Bay Area most of my life and felt comfortable walking, but we also took a cab to the theater and it was not expensive. You can shop in Union Square and drop off bags as needed since it is very near the square. Many of the stores in Union Square have a concierge service that will deliver your bags to the hotel for you so you don't have to walk back and forth. That is a great service! We loved the hotel with each room being unique and my daughter thought the murphy bed in our room was so great! It is not your typical hotel and if you expect it to be a Hilton or Marriott, you may be disappointed, but I loved it.

Hotel tries to be hip and friendly but furnishings feel cold and the spaces are not completely renovated. Some rooms have nice/servicable bathroom while others are small with no space for any toiletries. Rooms with windows facing a shaft are treated to views of the goings on and noise generated by the room across the shaft. Front desk is not sympathetic to raucous party guests effect on remaining guests. Breakfast was very nice.
