  Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. One night at the beginning of a cruise vacation and the other night after I returned from the cruise. The staff is friendly but not very sharp. On the first visit there were no towels in the room. They had to be reminded about 1/2 dozen times to leave them in the room. Also there is a popular club a few doors away and it is open until 5 AM. The music was blasting until that time. On the second visit, I asked for a room on the other side of the building, so the club music would not affect my sleep. That was OK. But I had to request a stopper for the tub since it was missing. After 1/2 hr. had to go to front desk and remind them that I was waiting for it! The next morning the chain in the toilet tank broke off the handle so I had to reach it and grab it in order to flush the toilet. Also, I adjusted the 2 clocks in both rooms to Std. time since the staff had never taken care of it. The pool and hot tub are not impressive at all and are mostly in the shade as they are surrounded by tall buildings. Finally, the hotel is too remote from what is happening on Ocean Dr. - next time will opt to get closer. Not worth the price and not a 4 star hotel by any means.

  When you find the hotel (recessed from Collins blvd) you double park on a small, but very busy street. Go to register (you noticed that every parking spot anywhere is filled) you are told valet parking is $30/day!! You are stuck! Next day we made friends with hotel staff - 13 blocks away is a enclosed parking garage $8.00/24 hr. But do you want to walk 13 blocks. Closer lots - uncovered-$10/24 hr. but no security (neither is the hotel's) Rip off for any special deals that you get

  Our reservation was for the Chesterfield, but we were moved to the Mercury - no reason was given. The room at the Mercury had broken furniture & cockroaches. Management response was very poor.
