  We stayed at the Fairmont Miramar for five nights in October. We were in LA on business and also to enjoy the weekend. The hotel is lovely and the staff is superb. I booked this online and got an Internet special rate. When we arrived, I was disappointed to see that the room had no view of the Ocean, but the hotel was ready to resolve this for a small upgrade fee. We ended up not moving because we did not spend that much time in the hotel. The grounds, particularly the incredible fig tree by the entrance, were very pretty and it's directly across the street from the Ocean. The bar and outside patio/pool area are very nice. Great health club and spa. Easy walking distance to everything, including the 3d Street Promenade, which is not to be missed, and the Santa Monica Pier, which is corny, but lots of fun. Easy commuting from the Fairmont to our ofice in Century City made me wonder about the traffic you hear so much about!

  We just spent 4 nights in a bungalow room at the Miramar and experienced what GREAT service is all about. We ate at Fig for our anniversary dinner and one breakfast. Had drinks and breakfast in the Lobby Bar and generally spent time "people watching" on several occassions. Our servers were varied and all delightful in there own way. The valet service was very quick and everyone at the front were helpful, friendly and generally just nice people. The location is perfect for visiting Santa Monica and all the nearby cities including Beverly Hills. As a President's Club member I stay at many Fairmont properties but this has been the best experience in my memory.

  The Fairmont Miramar is wonderful! The hotel staff goes out of their way to accomodate your every need. Since I booked through online travel website I wasn't able to request adjoining rooms, I called the hotel direct and x was more than happy to upgrade the second room to accomodate. This was my first contact with the hotel and once we arrived the great service and attention to detail continued. Leo and Azar at the Concierge desk were amazing! They were so helpful, knowledgable and patient. Some of the requests we heard from other guests were over the top/comical, but I'm sure they were taken care of. The workout facility was great and the patio right outside that overlooks the pool was so cozy. We rented a car for most of our stay, but there is so much to do within walking distance. I wish I remembered everyone's name we came in contact with at the hotel who made our trip so enjoyable, just too many! We will be back.
