This is a great hotel with plenty of space in the rooms, a variety of restaurants, and plenty of activities. Beds were comfortable. TV was small. They run frequent shuttle buses to the private beach and waterlot to catch the ferry. The ride to each was very short but saved you from walking up the hill. We recommend the 30 min ferry to Hamilton to shop and enjoy some of the amenities of the sister hotel. Also be sure to visit Horseshoe Bay, one of the best streches of beach in the world and a great time for the kids. It's right next to the Fairmont beach. Our favorite restaurant was Wickets for casual poolside dinning. Great food too. Also, we recommend staying on the "gold" floor if possible. Meals are expensive in Bermuda. The gold floor offers complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening tapas and dessert. Well worth the extra $ for the room when you consider what you save in meals. We ended up buying lunch only most days. The hotel staff is the best part of the trip. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We requested an upgrade to the gold floor when we arrived and the front desk bought us lunch while they got a room ready for us. These people know the meaning of customer service from top to bottom. We will definately stay here again!

Overall hotel experience was average. We had a moped helmet stolen directly from the hotel parking lot in front of the hotel which became wholly our responsibility. The hotel security and management were indifferent, accepted no accountablility and were very patronizing. Surprising response to us, as an accountable caring approach might have yielded the same end result, but would have left us feeling much better about our overall experience.

We booked a special per night deal, but upgraded to a room. We loved the hotel and rarely had to wait at all for the shuttle to the beach. They had 2 running constantly and the trip is only about 2 minutes. The restaurants were good and the one by the pool has reasonably priced family meals ( for a meal for 4). My husband enjoyed playing on the hotel's golf course and had no trouble getting on when he wanted to. It was great!

Two examples of disappointing customer service: 1) Our room was not ready at check-in time. Consider this when vacationing. Check-in time is at 4pm. If you arrive on vacation and your room is not available until dinnertime, that vacation day is lost. 2) I asked for some staff assistance to help my daughter use hotel facitilities (their game room). Both a shop employee and a front desk employee declined to help us-and didn't offer us any assistance. Not what I expect from a hotel in this price range. I have stayed at hotels on 4 continents-and this is among the most disappointing customer service experience I have had. I wrote to hotel management (while staying at the hotel), and received a lame response six days after I returned from my vacation.

We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton over Memorial Day weekend. The room they provided us with was lovely. The accomodations included a walk in closet, double sinks in bath, comfey bed robes coffee, balacony with wonderful view as well as chairs and a table We happened to get a wonderful rate during a sale they were having. We booked online. For the money we paid we really were pleased with the room. We ate at the Ocean Grill which has a wonderul ocean view. The food was very good. We also ate at Baco's the Italian rest it was equally as good. Not as expensive as some of the hotels restaurants. As a President Club member we had free access to the gym. The equipment was great. Just like at home but limited on the number of each one. Indoor pool was beautiful. Very secluded sunning area with wonderful view. Outdoor pool was very nice also. Transportation into Hamilton via ferry was convenient. All and all we had a wonderful experience.
