  What a great hotel: location, luxury, fantastic swimming pool for serious swimmers; fantastic exercise gym; short walk to Canada Place and dozens of great places to eat and shop. The staff were friendly. This is a great place to stay in Vancouver.

  This was our first time staying at this location, and I had high hopes for the property. When we arrived we were greeted with a $25/night parking charge, and a concierge who was somewhat mentally checked out. We reserved two rooms, and both rooms were extremely different. One was on the 11th floor, and the other was on the 9th floor. The 9th floor room was of an extremely odd layout, and the window looked upon a brick wall and a plastic owl. The 11th floor room had a decent view of the city. After travelling around Vancouver, I would recommend looking for somewhere else to stay as there are much better locations at a similar price.

  The hotel is about a block from the convention center, where I had a meeting. It is a couple blocks from "Gastown", which is the original Vancouver, so named because of the gas lamps. It is also a few more blocks from Chinatown. The hotel is a marvelous deal, and it was closer than most of the hotels recommended by the association that sponsored the meeting. I got a marvelous package deal through Travelocity, and of course that helped sweeten the deal! It has a wonderful "club" atmosphere, because that is what it is. As such, it has a nice library where one can go to read, and other private rooms to explore. It appeared that they did small group parties or reunions or whatever as well. There was a fitness center and restaurants, but our time was too scheduled to take advantage of them. We ate at the attached pub, which we enjoyed. So, if you are in this area, it would be a great place to stay.

  This hotel is one block up from Canada Place where most cruise ships depart and easy walking distance to gastown. The bellman walked our bags down the block to the cruise terminal. All of our bellmen have been great! This is the third time we have stayed here and we like it. We stay in a two room suite that has a pull-out sofa bed for the kids. Included with your room is a pass to a pretty good fitness center and indoor pool, which my kids like. This hotel is not really geared for kids, but it has not been an issue for us. The location, fitness center, pool and bed arrangements are our most important criteria for choosing this hotel.
