This was my first trip to London so I did not know what to expect. The hotel was within 3 blocks of the Holborn Underground station. Within 5 blocks of the British Museum. There were many food and drink option within 2 or 3 blocks. I had a room facing the court yard and it was incredibly quiet for a big city hotel.

Clean, comfortable hotel with moderate size room, typical for city hotels. Good "Full English" breakfast. Beware that the Wi-Fi Internet access costs 5 GBP per hour! That is or so, per hour! Outgoing SMTP e-mail is blocked, so e-mail has to be sent via a web interface, like Yahoo or Google, which requires the user to chew up more connection time than the old dial-up technique where you could download your mail, then log off, and then prepare your replies, and then re-connect to upload the mail. Also, if you turn off your computer, the clock keeps running for some time... or so it seemed. You have to proactively use the "disconnect" page to minimize your connect time. The hotel web page simply advertises "Wi-Fi available". Maybe an account with BT would make more sense? We stayed 4 days, and we liked the hotel. It is very close to the Holburn "tube" station.

We stayed at the Bonnington Hotel in Holburn our first few nights in the UK. The hotel staff was exceptional. The room was small but very clean and the bathroom was very nice. My only complaint was that the bed was a spring bed and the springs often put pressure on us that was uncomfortable. The street noise and especially the constant sirens were a little disturbing but, hey...that's the city. The food in the bar was very tasty and the breakfasts were excellent. I had one occassion to need the staff for a minor medical issue and they responded very nicely. The location is within easy access of 2 tubes stations and ample taxi's so getting around London was very easy from this Hotel.

The hotel is very close to the underground and Euston Station which made getting around the city easy. The room was small with cracks in the walls and in need of paint with no view except the back alley. However, it was extremely clean with a comfortable bed. The personnel were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts offered a variey of foods and was very good."
