    I was very happy with this hotel in spite of having a room with a view of alleys when I looked down from my 4th floor window or of surrounding skyscrapers when I looked up. I believed people who booked their reservations designated as the River Hotel (shared the same address as Club Quarters) got room with beautiful views of the Chicago River and Michigan Avenue buildings. The check-in and check-out were quick. My room was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed. The room was clean and purified drinking water (you bottle yourself) was available near the elevator (I tend to buy bottle water when I travel so to have good drinking water readily available was a welcomed delight). The staff was helpful. I only stayed 3 nights but when I return to Chicago I will book this hotel (perhaps the side with the more stimulating view). Oh, I had Chinese food -recommended by the hotel- delivered to my room very late the night of my arrival, AWESOME! On the down side: I turned up the heat which made a little too much noise although it worked very well and quickly so I did not have to leave it on for long. And there were some reception problems with the television where the image on the screen would periodically freeze requiring a change of channel to correct it. I got a good deal through the travel website and I would definitely make reservations at Club Quarters/River Hotel again.

    We really enjoyed our hotel. The room was small but well furnished. It was quiet, couldn't hear the other rooms. The location was great; we walked to shopping on Michigan and down to Macy's on State St. My daughter liked the complimentary bottled water.

    This hotel provided a very comfortable stay at a very affodable price. The rooms are recently renovated and though small, were very comfortable. Location is close to everything in downtown Chicago. Would definitely stay again.

    This hotel was conveniently located and priced reasonably. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was very good and was also reasonably priced. The rooms were uncomfortably small but were clean and the decor was up to date. I was very disappointed with the service at this hotel though. Most everyone at the desk was friendly and helpful with the exception of one female attendant who was unpleasant to deal with. Not only was she rude, she gave us incorrect directions which seemed odd because I would expect the hotel desk staff to be familiar with the streets near the hotel. Housekeeping was a problem in particular. On the second day of our stay, the housekeeper opened the door to our room with her key and shouted "housekeeping" AFTER she entered our room. She found both of us laying in bed asleep. I thought she would have either given us time to respond to her shout of "housekeeping" or knock and wait for a reply before entering. On the third day of our stay, the housekeeper never came at all. The trash remained in the room, we had no fresh towels, and the bed was never made. I know it sounds like a small thing, but part of the allure of traveling and staying at nice hotels is being waited on a bit. This hotel certainly fell short in that area. In a city with so many great hotels, the Club Quarters was a true disappointment.
