Been to Thailand twice and have stayed at this hotel both times!... It is a short 15 walk up to the main Sukhumvit RD where the Skytrain is and other shops and the Siam Mall... The hotel is one block away from a huge supermarket where you can get fresh fruits/breads to take back to the room! Everything was super cheap! Even room service (dinners range from $10-15 for two people). The room is very nice with a large refrigerator, sink, microwave... bathroom was nice and big w/ good water pressure. Had to go across the street to the other side of the hotel to go to the pool area, which is really really nice. I would suggest arriving after 3pm to make sure your room is ready... Any earlier and you will have to wait to check in! Hotel is set back from the main street, in a quiet corner, free from traffice and noise. The main street (near the hotel) in the opposite direction, has a Tesco supermarket on the corner, McDonalds, and further down that street is an indoor mini-mall with lots of stores and restuarants. The hotel is about 5 minutes away in a taxi from the Lumphini night bazaar, which is very very nice and has lots of outdoor vendors. It is also a stop on the metro line. Highly recommend taking excursions, especially the bus trip to Pattaya Beach. They will pick you up from this hotel! That was an all day adventure that was really nice and very inexpensive! Beware of the Tut-Tut drivers near the hotel who want to take you "shopping" for suits... They will take you to the most expensive places; I believe they work on commission... You can find much cheaper places to have suits made!

I've stayed at this hotel twice before; in Jan 2006 and in Feb 2007. Both times was a great experience. The hotel is situated across from the 'Davis' hotel and is very close to a grocery store that stays open very late. This grocery store has fresh fruits and vegetables that are 'dirt' cheap. The room is nice and big w/ a couch and full size refrigerator. The bathroom is very nice and big and clean. Room service was so affordable that at times it was cheaper than eating out! The hotel is in a quiet area that is right down the street from the main road of Sukhumvit. They have a service that runs every hour to take you up to the top of the street or you can take a 15 minute walk to get up to the main road. Along the way are nice shops and plenty of places to get a $5-10 massage. There is also a 'Tesco' right around the corner from the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel each time we go back!.. :)

Staff has limited English, Improvement in English skills would be great. They also have a great shuttle that takes you to The Emporium Mall and also pick up. From there you can take the subway to many locations. We thought that was fantastic. The Best thing about the rooms is that they have a mini kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and stove. We really enjoyed that for quick snacks and early morning coffee.

Good hotel for the business traveler, especially if you are coming from Europe or the States. They are associated or own the Capitol Club fitness center. While the gym may be a bit old, the fitness classes and equipment are just the right elixir to get your body transitioned to the Bangkok time zone. The location is not quite next to the SkyTrain, but it is close enough to walk. There are some great western style restaurants nearby, most notably the Seafood Market (very good), and some of the best shopping in town at the Emporium.

We stayed here for 4 days. Only problem was that the room that I had booked was not available the first night. All they had was smoking (and I had booked a non-smoking room). The room didn't smell smoky at all but had to move the next day to the room that I had originally book (Tulip Suite). Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a little far to the metro stop, but they had a tuk-tuk that would shuttle you to the metro -- you had to get your own way back. To get back, we would catch a cab and it would only cost around 30-50 baht. Spa was GREAT! A Swedish Massage for 90 minutes was around $40. We would stay here again.
