Looked at a bunch of hotels, this one was reasonably priced becuase it was not right in down town. Hotel was clean, did no thave much interaction with the staff other the checking in and out., no problems or delays at either time. Our room faced a small mall next door, even with the windows open there was no noise. This was out first vacation where we did not rent a vehicle but relied on public transportation, the bus, SkyTrain and the brand new Canada subway line. From this hotel to the airport, 45 minutes (via bus and Canada subway line) for $ a person. Public transportaion is right there, a short ride to down town. Ate breakfest a couple of times at the hotel and at a small resturant right next door. You could even grab a few beers with dinner at night at the resturant. The immedate area seemed safe to walk thru during the day time and early evening, late a night...not sure, did not have the opportunity to find out Cant comment on the underground parking, did not have vehilce, and do not even go into the garge to scope it out. No problem for us to recommend this to other travelers and we would stay here again.

Newer property that is situated between Chinatown and a Vietnamese neighborhood. Lots of interesting little shops and ethnic restaurants in the neigbhorhood. However, I wouldn't recommend walking the neighborhood between the hotel and Chinatown after dark, even though the staff doesn't share that concern! We visited without a car and found easy access to the local transit system. We were able to ride easily to Stanley Park and a few other areas. Rooms are nice and well kept.

We traveled with another couple and picked the location for travel in Vancouver and the general area. My wife was attending a medical convention so it was a vacation and business mix. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Big room with microwave and frig. The only down side was the parking. We ended up with an upgraded rental car that was a midsize SUV. Comfortable for 4 people and luggage but tricky parking in the basement garage. A small car would have been easier parking. Staff was great and the continental breakfast was adequate. Yogurt, boiled eggs, begels, etc. The general area felt safe and we did some walking to the grocery store and to ethnic resteruants in the area.

Front desk staff needs a class on customer service and people skills. Parking in the garage is a nightmare. Parking is secure but front desk did not tell us the parking garage comes to a dead end with no possible way out, unless you back out. Parking stalls are VERY small and narrow, if you drive something larger than a Yugo it will be very tight manuvering around. I damaged my dodge caravan trying to get out. The front desk gave an apology, but did not seem suprised by it.
