I stayed at the Park hotel for 9 days. It was clean, staff friendly and helpful, my room was small yet large enough. Good enough English. Many foreigners from Europe. Great shower, good lighting. Lovely view. The first night I couldn't figure out how to turn off the hall light. The console next to the bed has four buttons. The middle two say down. I didn't know to press the side of the button, but I learned. The biggest drawback for me was that many people smoked in the lobby/lounge area beginning at breakfast until late at night. That is where they served the buffet breakfast so I couldn't handle that. On the other hand at the street level of the hotel next door, the Royal Park Shiodome there is a new organic macrobiotic restaurant, Chaya, that is wonderful, not too expensive open for lunch and dinner. This is a convenient location with many little restaurants around the area, a wonderful spa and highly responsive elevators. Their French restaurant has a great reputation with a known chef. Their Japanese dinner was exquisite. If you want to smoke you will be at home here.

My husband and teenage son stayed at this hotel in March 2009. This was their first trip to Tokyo and they had a wondeful time. The hotel staff were courteous and were always available. The location was perfect and they were able to walk to many places. When they go back they plan on staying at the same hotel.

The location, staff, rooms, views, everything were absolutely perfect. The price was also amazing for Tokyo. Shimbashi Station is very close for train travel, and there is a subway station in the basement, so you can be anywhere in Tokyo within minutes. The staff was excellent, and most spoke English, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't learn some Japanese before going to Tokyo (It makes everything easier).

My niece and I jwrapped up a 16 day trip to Japan at the Park based on other reviews and were not disappointed we did. The hotel is on the upper floors of a very nice, though sterile highrise building. The views are terrific. The modern hotel lobby impressed my 18 year old niece, but struck me as pure 'business traveller' anticeptic. So I was surprised when our 29th floor, king bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The Park is steps from the monorail to Odaiba, a fantastic amusement, shopping, casual dining, and attraction filled entertainment area that is great for teens. They also have 2 floors in the Hong Kong area filled with day spas so adults can have fun too. We were also a short walk to Tsukiji market, where we went for great, inexpensive sashimi breakfasts and shopping. We loved the location since it was away from the bustle of Tokyo center, yet close to a major train station just a 10 minute walk away (all underground). Shimbashi Station isn't in league with Shinjuku or Tokyo Station, but we found plenty of good, inexpensive places to eat in and near the station and hotel, and could catch a subway to anywhere in the Tokyo metro area in minutes. Hotel staff were freindly and efficient, and offered English language maps and travel tips. With only 3 terminals the business center was often crowded, but Internet is free. We didn't eat at the restaurant since the prices were ridiculously high, though the Europeans at the hotel seemed to flock there in large numbers for the well stocked breakfast buffet. We were seemingly the only Americans at the hotel, though we met many young Europeans, which gives the Park a very international flavor. Overall, a good choice and value.
