  We chose this hotel because we knew we would need to do laundry, and that was listed among the amenities. They used to have laundry, but no more. We had to drag our laundry ten blocks away and back to get it done. The hotel clearly has a lot of history, with a rock and roll vibe and lots of old photos of bands and musicians, including large photos of the Stones playing in Melbourne in the early 70's. However, everything seems rickety and out of repair, and we were scared to take the elevator. The bath was small and dumpy, and there wasn't much to the room. The staff was friendly, and internet is at least free, which was rare. Still, I can't recommend it. It wasn't too far off of the main tram lines, but the local transportation system itself can be a bit intimidating.

  I adore this Hotel! It has a unique quality and concept and the ambiance is just great! I would go here just to have a glas of wine in the evening or to just enjoy their delicious breakfast in the morning if I lived in the area. Friendly staff, creative interiour, great ambiance and really comfortable beds made my stay a true pleasure. If you want to get away from the same old boring hotel concepts - and still feel at ease, this would be the hotel for you! I would recommend anyone who goes to melbourne to stay here and will certainly book myself in for my next visit! And it doesnt hurt that they always play great music in the lounge :)
