  I simply cannot explain how much my husband and I enjoyed the Fairmont Mayakoba. We were treated like royalty from the moment that we reached the property, greeted by name with cool towels and drinks. We were escorted to our casita near the beach and were awe struck by how wonderful our accommodations were. Everyone that we encountered on the property ;and I truly mean everyon; was gracious, accommodating and welcoming. The beach was magnificent as were the pools. The restaurants and waitstaff were excellent. The spa was wonderful too. The hotel is just about a 20-30 minute cab ride from Playa del Carmen so we enjoyed a couple of nights in the town as well. We have been on many beach vacations but this was the best ever. We highly, highly recommend this resort!

  Fairmont Mayakoba is a truly beautiful resort. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful--it truly felt like they wanted to help you out, that it wasn't just their job, and did everything to ensure you were having a great time. The resort is espcially beautiful because you can experience the mangroves as well as the beach. Prompt shuttle service and complimentary bikes make it easy to get around the property. Don't miss the Willow Stream Spa!

  Just got back on 03/07/09 and had a great time. The hotel and grounds are amazing. The service is top notch and the atmosphere was very relaxing. This resort is spread out over about 45 acres, so a little walking is involved, but they also offer shuttle via golf carts. The beach does have a few rocks in the water for the first feet, but otherwise is very clean. The pools were our choice most of the time because when we were there it was pretty windy and the pools surroundings blocked most of the winds. Overall, great place. Oh yeah, and if it is nightlife you want, go to Playa at night, about 170 pesos via cab and go to Carlos n' Charlie's to start and end up at the Blue Parrot after 11:30, you can not not have fun at either of these places. We just relaxed during the day and partied all night long, can't wait to go back.

  this resort is probably perfect for romantic getaways or if your traveling with friends,the setting is marvelous!if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go,very serene and the whole staff are just wonderful,there are plenty of activities to do inside and outside the resort,shopping and nighlife is 10 min away from resort ( u have to go to Blue Parrot if you want to partyyyyyyy & dont bother wearing your fancy pair of shoes,the sand is ur dancefloor) overall this resort did not dissappoint me,sevice was excellent,the casitas are beautiful,food was excellent (though it was pricey),i will not recommend this resort for people who have kids.

  The hotel and grounds were beautiful and the service was excellent, but the beach and the hotel lobby were very far from the rooms. The hotel does offer prompt shuttles to get around. The beach restaurant ""Las Brisas"" only offers outdoor terrace dining during the day, and no adequate sunshaded areas for larger groups! The slight smell of sewage in the shower water raises some questions though the hotel staff claims that all the hotel's water is purified. Overall we were not impressed for the price we paid and will probably not stay at the Mayakoba again.
