    Great little place to visit for a quick getaway. Everything you need at one place. Great environment, amenities, and the best food we have ever had for an all-inclusive resort. My only word of advice is to bring your ear plugs. The design of the hallways to rooms is not the best. Tile floors with no sound dampening make for quite the echo chamber. Our room was 0003 and was near an entrance for staff. There was a constant din of carts rolling in and out at all hours of the day and night. So stay off the first floor when possible. If you need a soft comfortable bed, stay away. They are very stiff slabs with no pillow top. Was actually very beneficial for my lower back.

    Rooms were very clean and spacious. the staff was friendly and helpfull. i have no complaints other than i had to leave and go back to work.

    Just got back from RIU Palace Riviera Maya and I cannot think of enough nice things to say about our stay! The resort was beautiful, the service was outstanding, the restaurants were all great (especially Krystal!!), and the beach was gorgeous! I didn't realize that there were several RIU properties all located on the same strip of beach - and they all looked amazing! I am already looking forward to booking another trip!

    We went with another couple to Playa Del Carmen, our first time there and had a GREAT vacation! The hotel was beautiful, very clean, safe, everyone was friendly and polite. The food was great, we couldn't believe the spread they had for breakfast, lunch and dinner (fresh food and good for even the pickiest of eaters!). Drinks were served poolside and while lying on the beach too! We took a cab for $* to Downtown Playa and had a great time shopping and dining - they have great outdoor restaurants there. I can't say enough about the hotel and we can't wait to take the whole family next year! We strongly suggest buying the shuttle through car rental company while booking through travel agency that worked out well and was hassle free! We got an upgrade on our suite to the Junior Deluxe and glad we did; a great view and they stocked our room with cold beer every morning and turned down our beds at night!

    My experiences with the Riu "Plalace" hotels has always been great. The service is great, the location is great, best of all are the people, some of the most pleasant people you will ever meet. You can't beat it for the price.
