    We went to the Riu in Ocho Rios in October and had a wonderful time. All of our reservations were perfect and the hotel and staff were excellent. Our only problem with the trip was trying to get a claim paid by the travel insurance purchased with travelocity but run by The Berkley Group. If at all possible shop around and find a better company. We had a suitcase crushed along with rum we had purchased while in Jamaica. The insurance company would not pay out for damages because we had no receipts (paid cash receipt got saoked in the broken rum and suitcase had been bought 3 yrs prior. I don;t keep receipts that long. Anyway the flights and hotel were great. I do agree with several of the people on here.....skip the Asian resturant. Our favorite was the St Annes buffet. great selection of food even for a picky eater

    We had wonderful time-relaxing! The hotel is beautiful and the services are outstanding! The rooms are very clean. The daily activities provided by the hotel are very entertaining. The food is beautifully presented and tastes deliicious! We wish we would have booked a longer stay! Am recommending to all we know! Thank you so much staff of Riu Ocho Rios!

    Stayed September 2009 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful and kept extremely clean. The room had a few problems (broken toilet seat, broken shower head & phone did not work) and the hotel made repairs within two days of our complaint. The food was pretty good...the buffet had many choices & different theme nights. The restaurants were good, all had several choices from the menu. The beach was gorgeous and you are able to snorkel in the reefs right there. The swim up pool bar was awesome! The bartenders are great. Bring your own large mug & they will fill it up, instead of having a small plastic cup. If you leave the resort, go to Scotchie's to eat authentic jerk chicken...it is the best! We had a great experience at the Riu.

    I recently vacationed at this hotel. It was a last minute trip and it was the right decision. I will keep it short. Hotel Resort was EXCELLENT. The staff was wonderful and the resort was clean. Book it. You won't regret it. Trust
