The resort is listed as a 5 star resort, this is more like a 3 star resort. The resort just open in Feburary 09. So you would think that everythiong would be mint condition. Well not. We had issues with our room, our room safe wasn't working, the refrigerator wasn't stocked. Call several times, then someone came to stock the refrigerator. No one came down for the room safe. Then the air conditioner stop working during the night. I ended up sleeping out on the balcony on a plastic chair the 1st night. There is cracks in the walls, room wasn'r dusted. I demmanded another room in the morning. After 3 hour of waiting we got a new room. You wouldn't expect this from newly built resort. They still had construction going on, and the place was empty they said September is a slow month. The pools were literally falling apart. The tiles are missing and some broken in the pool causing to cut my toe. Some of the restaurants were closed due to capacity. I didn't have a decent meal with the exception of breakfest ,which yoiu really can't mess up. Couldn't wait to go home to have a decent meal. I think they rush to get this resort opened in resulting in shotty work done. Its too bad cause this has potential to be a great 5 star resort. I think they need new managment in resulting in good compent employees. I would not vacation here again.

Visit was OK. Expected more for a new hotel such as more entertainment at the resort. Did not hear alot of reggae music. They had several places to eat and drink but most of the time the food was cold (buffet style) The room temperature was not comfortable. Could not adjust. The resort is very beautiful and clean but needs to work on making you fell like you are in Jamaica instead of still in the USA.

  • For the price, you can't beat it.

For the price I paid, you can not beat this place. The resort is falling apart but the location and service is worth the visit. You can not compare this resort to Sandals or Couples but they are not even in the same league. Make the best of it and enjoy Jamaica.

LET ME START OFF BY SAYING I WAS EXTREMELY IFFY ABOUT THIS RESORT BEFORE ARRIVAL, DUE TO SOME OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS. WE GOT THERE ON THURS AND STAYED TILL SUNDAY. IT WAS AWESOME. THE FOOD WAS GREAT...ESPECIALLY THE ITALIAN AL LA CARTE. THE BUFFETS WERE GOOD...MOST OF THEM HAD THE SAME VARIETY OF FOOD. WE STAYED IN A BUNGALOW SUITE...AWESOME!!! OUR VIEW WAS AMAZING. THE AIR CONDITIONING IS NOT BAD AT ALL. GET TWO ROOM KEYS, AND LEAVE ONE IN THE SLOT NEXT TO THE DOOR, OTHERWISE THE FAN AND A/C WILL TURN OFF. THE ROOM WAS BEAUTIFUL AND BIG. THE OUTSIDE SHOWER WAS SUPER COOL AND THE WATER WAS ALWAYS NICE AND WARM. THE JACUZZI IN THE ROOM WAS HUGE AS WELL BUT THE WATER PRESSURE STUNK...NO BIGGIE. THE MAIN POOL WAS ENORMOUS. YES, THE TILES ARE FALLING OFF...BUT THAT DEFF DID NOT RUIN OUR VACATION. IT REALLY WASNT A BIG DEAL. THE SWIM UP BAR IN THE POOL WAS NICE. BRING YOUR OWN MUGS...ALL THE BARS WILL FILL THEM UP. THERE ARE 3 BEACHES. ONE WHICH IS KINDA A LONG WALK BUT HAS ALL THE WATER SPORTS/ACTIVITES...ANOTHER WHICH IS NEAR THE MAIN POOL....AND A PRIVATE ADULT BEACH. THE HOTEL IS SO LARGE THAT IT SEEMS LIKE NO ONE IS THERE. IT SEEMED LIKE IT WAS EMPTY, BUT IT WASNT. THERE WAS ALWAYS ENOUGH CHAIRS AND TIKI HUTS FOR EVERYONE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RELAXING, BEAUTIFUL, FRIENDLY RESORT THIS IS THE PLACE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING JAMAICA NEXT YEAR AND STAYING AT THE SAME PLACE.

We stayed on the Lady Hamilton side of the resort because we heard that it was a more adult-friendly area than the Grand Palladium side. I would definitely recommend that side if you are not bringing kids, though overall I don't think it really matters, and kids weren't a problem in the common areas. Our room was great--we didn't have any problems with air conditioning, though we talked to guests whose rooms were very hot. We just kept the fan going the entire time. One complaint we had is that if anyone smoked in the lobby outside our room, the smoke would seep into our room and linger. We also had a problem with our patio door not locking; since we were staying on the ground floor, we made sure that it was fixed. This was also a common problem (other guests complained of the same thing) so make sure you check it if you are on the ground floor. It looks like the doors were constructed in a shoddy way so the bolts don't often match up. The food was mediocre; my boyfriend didn't mind it too much and we could always find something at the buffets that was good, but for the money you pay, I think that it should have been of higher quality. The drinks were great and I have no complaints there. We never had to wait for a table except for one night at Poseidon's when they were also hosting a wedding reception. The pools were very pretty from afar, but multiple tiles were missing and sometimes they were lagging on upkeep. I definitely agree with previous reviewers in that it seems like the resort was built very quickly and more attention was paid to quantity rather than quality. Overall, only OK.
