  We came on a Saturday and the Hotel staff were all terrific! Not a bad person in the house. We read that we should try and upgrade to th Fairmont Gold and we did.... So glad we did. The room was NICE! Except the mini bar thing (DO NOT OPEN!). They should really do something about it. We got to take the dog for a walk on Sunday morning and my giirls loved it! The gold room was Fantastic! One of my girls who is 6 said the service here is really terrific and said they felt like royalty! X and his associate X were #1 and were extremely professional. I researched many hotels and this place by far was a fantastic deal. I do not know about the other rooms but the Gold level was the best. The pillow concierge was a nice treat. Check it out about choosing your own special pillows!! We are from California and have travelled to many places and felt this very nice. We will be back.

  This hotel seems to have slipped very far downhill since my first visit. After this last stay however I will not be going back. We were unable to find a moments peace! There was so much noise from people screaming on the sidewalk in front of the building and after repeated complaints the hotel staff did nothing to ask them to leave. If you are looking for a relaxing visit to Vancouver, this is not the place!

  This hotel seems to have slipped very far downhill since my first visit. After this last stay however I will not be going back. We were unable to find a moments peace! There was so much noise from people screaming on the sidewalk in front of the building and after repeated complaints the hotel staff did nothing to ask them to leave. If you are looking for a relaxing visit to Vancouver, this is not the place!

  We live in the Seattle area and went to Vancouver BC for a Friday and Saturday night quick getaway. We chose the Fairmont Vancouver because we like the location and had been to the hotel before - plus the rate was fantastic (* a night quoted * for two nights with tax - US funds - plus another 30 for parking and 12 for Internet - Canadian - at about .78 US to 1.00 Canadian - what a difference a few months have made). The Fairmont is in the heart of downtown, you can't be more centrally located. We parked the car Friday night and picked it up Sunday morning. The Bellagio coffee shop next door is the hot tip for breakfast. We had lunch at the Kalypso Greek restaurant a few blocks away on Robson - a repeat favorite. We ate in the hotel restaurant the first night, which was very nice. We ate in the bar (900 room?) the next night, and had good music and drinks to go with nachos and ceasar salad split two ways - which was much the better value. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed in the Blue Horizon once and it was noisier - both street noise and noise from other rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief vacation.
