My daughter(14) and I enjoyed the location. We had a cozy little room at the back which was quiet and clean and elegant. The desk staff were helpful and fun. The neighborhood was sweet especially old Stone St. with Delmonicos and a little breakfast & lunch place called Financiers was lovely. It was very easy to grab the subway at Fulton or Rector or Wall St station to go anywhere. Of course we would go back. Only complaints would be the strong smell of the cleanser when we arrived and the maid service was a little inconsistent. Maggie S, ST Paul, mn

Due to the length of out stay, management was offered to upgrade our room to a one bedroom suite with a kitchenette at no additional charge. Overall, the room was sparsely decorated and in good repair. The queen bed was firm, but comfortable, and the linens and bedspread were clean. Amenities included a large flat-panel TV, a small leather sofa, a desk with a bookcase, and two end tables. An iron and full-sized ironing board were also provided. Noticeably absent was a bureau or chest of drawers of any kind. The closet contained several cubby holes for organizing shoes & clothing. The kitchenette was outfitted with a full-sized refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee maker, and microwave. Plates, bowls, cups, glasses, various utensils, and flatware were also provided. All of the appliances were spotless and in good working order. The bathroom contained a small vanity sink and a series of floating-shelves to store toiletries. My main complaint is that the TV was not attached to a swiveling mount. This made it difficult to view the screen while reclining in bed. Also, the carpeting was thin and abrasive. I think the flooring was made from some type of course, organic fiber. The service was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. This was good value, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone interested in traveling to NYC.

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY IN THIS HOTEL. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY, THE ROOM WAS VERY NICE AND IT HAD A FULL KITCHEN AND A NICE SIZE SITTING ROOM WITH A FLAT SCREEN TV AND ALSO ONE IN THE BEDROOM WHICH WAS A NICE SURPRIZE. THE BUFFET AT BREAKFAST WAS PRETTY GOOD WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS BACON, SAUSAGE. FRUIT, MUFFINS, BAGELS, TOAST DIFFERANT KINDS OF CEREAL AND THE BREAKFAST WAS INCLUDED WHICH WAS VERY NICE.THE BATHROOM WAS SMALL BUT FOR CLEAN THE ONLY THING I HAD AN ISSUE WITH WAS THE TOWELS AS THEY WERE STIFF AND CHEAP. ITS A VERY NICE QUIET AREA TO STAY IN THREE BLOCKS FROM THE SUBWAY AND TWO BLOCKS FROM THE SOUTH STREET SEA PORT.

my friend and I stayed there the last weekend of April. 2009 just for 1 night. The room was wonderful and the staff was THE BEST. Very helpful and friendly, it was great staying in a boutique hotel which was very quiet and near all the things we wanted to see on the lower east side. Within walking distance of everything! The room's 2 queen beds was great, wonderful bathroom, flat screen TV-I have stayed at a million hotels in NY, all with very small, older rooms- this place was such a wonderful surprise! Nice leather couch and chair--very roomy. Coffee in the morning before the buffett was even open, as we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge before breakfast, and needed the coffee! I've told everyone to stay there-can't wait to go back--it's great!!

I am a business traveler and selected this hotel due to it being only 2 blocks from the office I was visiting. Upon arrival, I was notified that the hotel had changed hands and was under renovation. When I got to my room (executive room per front desk - 8th floor) I knew why they told me this. My room had walls and ceiling paint peeling everywhere. The lighting was a joke. With ever light on, you couldn't get enough light to read the newspaper. A light in the bathroom was out (I just had to screw it back in - but don't you think Housekeeping would have noticed that?) The towels were thread bare. Kmart has better towels. Accessibilty for anyone in a wheelchair would be difficult. My room was up 3 steps, so I do not understand how that would be handicap accessable. When I arrived, I went uptown and came back at night - there was a homeless person sleeping in front of the building. Even though it is wintertime, the heating/ac would not push out any acceptable air. Had to open the window (no screens - so pigon paridise!) (Note, there is scaffolding surronding the hotel since it is under renovation) On the plus side, it had a nice size fridge, full size microwave. Subway is close - 3 blocks up. I felt very comfortable at night in the area otherwise. Some good restaurants, you just have to find them. Staff was pretty friendly, as long as you can get them to come out from the backroom. All in all, stay away, at least until the renovations are completed
