  This is a rundown grimy place. The shower curtain was covered with mold inside the tub as if no one had ever cleaned it. The tub had black feet marks, I had to clean it myself before we could use it. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and bedding was very old, but appeared clean. The worst part was the tv. A VERY old one, with access to only a few channels. The colors were green and red, and no night scenes could be seen. The price was very high and the only reason we stayed was because it was parent's weekend at Texas State and all of the other nice hotels were booked. I wouldn't Old fashioned AC/Heat which was impossible to regulate. I expected alot more for the price and wouldn't ever stay here again. Weird keycards with holes punched in them--does anyone still do this?

• Very annoying wake up call every Sunday morning

  We reserved 10 rooms at this motel for our daughter's April wedding. We drove to the area to check out the facilities and availability of caterers, florists, party rentals etc. We booked the suite at this facility to make sure we'd want to entertain a few of our out of town guests here that would be staying in one of the 10 rooms reserved. The room was very large and fairly comfortable except for the fact that the a/c would not work. It was 75 degrees in the room all night. The front desk would not answer the phone and since we were already undressed we just turned the ceiling fan on which was extremely noisy. We decided to report it in the morning and slept the best we could in the hot room. At 7:45 am Sunday morning we began hearing piano music, then women singing, then people clapping, then people yelling. Then some guy started yelling "it's your time, it's your time, it's your time". This could be heard clearly over the shower, over the hairdryer, over the loud TV. Again, the front desk would not answer the phone (probably couldn't hear the ringing). It went on for over an hour. When we inquired about it at the front desk when we checked out we were informed that this was an every Sunday morning event. Apparently the conference center is booked by some church group. We have cancelled our 10 room reservation for April as we are certain our guests will not want to be startled awake at 7:45 Sunday morning after attending a wedding Saturday evening. We have called the motel to speak with the manager with no return call. This is not the best representation for the LaQuinta chain. Don't stay Saturday evening to sleep in.

  This hotel had everything I could ask for considering the price I payed. Clean room, friendly helpful service that does not wait to be asked for help, healthy filling breakfast. Only negative was no business center (internet) or save-the-planet type educative info such as for towels, water, air conditioning, etc. I really could of used an extra blanket.
