Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! The hotel is across the street from the downtown bus station, unless you drove in and out of the parking lot, you are bombarded with people asking you for extra change or any money you could spare! We booked the hotel for the in-room DVD player and 24 hour pool, both were inaccurate information. No DVD player, the TV wasn't even capable of hooking one up and the pool closed at 11pm. We asked the front desk guy, which was rude, where we could find a vending machine, and we were directed to the 18th floor only to find an unplugged machine which had a pack of gum, a nutrigrain bar and a beef stick. You also have to pay to park in the hotel lot! We hung out in the West End area most of the evening, but upon returning to our room, we found we had no air conditioning. We requested toilet paper when we used the one roll that they had provided, we waited 30 minutes and finally had to get our own off the maid's cart. We paid an unbelievable $ for the night! I will never return to this hotel.

We picked this hotel because it was on the convention hotel list and was about 5 blocks from the convention center. We arrived at 9pm. We had difficulty finding the parking garage enterance. The lighting around the hotel is poor. The parking garage is very tight for a crew cab truck. The room was small. The bathroom was tiny. You had to squeeze between the sink and toilet to close the door. I knocked dust off the wallpaper in one corner of the room the first day of our stay, the dust was still on the floor three days later when we checked out. The area is very "seedy". There was "police activity" blocking the parking garage exit one evening. The hot breakfast consisted of runny scrambled eggs, greasy bacon, toast, bagels, cereal, canned fruit cocktail, and waffles. The thermostat did not work. It was 65 degrees. This hotel should be demo ed, not renovated.

  • Not too bad, good price for downtown location

We arrived to find the hotel under construction and were not notified beforehand, which was a surprise. We did get a lower rate because of the construction, but everything was torn up. The pool was gross, so don't plan on swimming. There were no ice dispensers on the floors and you have to go to the kitchen near the lobby to get ice. However, the rooms themselves weren't too bad; the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Also there is a good continental breakfast. Parking is $10 a day and it's in a gated parking garage. Because of the area I wouldn't recommend walking anywhere in the evening, but during the day is fine. Overall, I think the hotel was worth the low price and it suited our needs; I think it will be nice once the construction is finished.

The hotel was nice but you could tell it was older. The rooms were nice size and the beds were comfortable. I would not recommend the pool. Our room was over it and you could see how dirty it was. They started cleaning it the first night there but by the 3rd morning when we left it still was not completed. The staff was friendly though. The vending machine was empty but the staff did offer the complimentary shuttle to take us to the nearest store for snacks. The hot breakfast was okay, I've had better but I've also had much worse. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay there again if I were going to that part of Dallas.

We arrived at the West End. The room was very nice and the bed the most comfortable of anywhere I have ever stayed. We walked down to Dealy Plaza (very close) but on the return went to the backside of the hotel. We were appraoched for money 3 times in a half hour. Once we figured out not to go out behind the hotel everything was fine.
