I have stayed here in the past. It has not changed much. The Staff was very nice and friendly. I travel often and stay in hotels almost 1/2 the year or more. For the price, this is a decent, clean, well located hotel. I would not recommend it for families with children. For Adults or couples, it's fine. It is an older hotel, but well maintained. The double bed was adequate, and comfortable. I missed some of the normal amenities that I am use to: coffee maker, bath lotions, etc but the hotel is also cheaper. For the price, I have no complaints. The carpet was old and had a "repaired" tear, but was clean. It was quiet and pleasant. Traffic in the parking lot late night, but not uncommon for the area. I felt safe (I'm an older male). Parking could be a problem if the hotel were full. A couple of semi-tractors were parked along the back side of the parking lot but created no problem. The rooms were quiet. I had stayed for one night in the same area at a super 8, that was very run down and moved to this location.

Overall for the money, I consider this hotel to be one of the better choices. I would stay here again. The staff was very nice.

My family decided to go on a trip to San Antonio, but on the way we were going to stop by Medieval Times in Dallas and stay one night. We didn't do much research on this one as I had it recommended to me by my brother. Something to keep in mind is that my brother is single and I'm a married 28-year-old man with a wife and a 4-year-old daughter.

We really didn't like the hotel when we drove up as we could tell immediately it was in a bad neighborhood. All of the convenient stores in the area had bars on the windows and so did some of the houses.

e checked in and the clerk wasn't really friendly or rude. Just indifferent like a fast-food employee. Immediately upon entering the room we noticed a musty smell like you would smell in an old house that has been empty for a long time. It wasn't horribly strong, but it wasn't ttractive. It had 2 uncomfortable double-beds and a very small bathroom. I'm a very short person, but when I sat on the toilet my knees were almost touching the wall. It wasn't really clean and it wasn't really dirty.

The one thing that I though was rather dirty was that one of the fire sprinklers on the wall left a long rust stain down the wall that my four-year-old kept referring to as "blood". It should have been easy to clean up, but it was never done.

They did have free coffee, but that was pretty much it for the amenities. There was no pool or anything extra at all.

If you're single or even a couple without kids, this may be a decent place to crash for a night. Otherwise, spend a bit more for cleanliness, safety, and quality.

If you want a TV, forget about it. You never know what channels will be out, but there will be some. The TVs are OLD. They cannot fix the Master Antenna TV system because the contractor doesn't have a TV to watch, according to X, the Manager. HUH? Why don't they take one from ANY room? Why can't they buy a SMALL flat screen for him? Why doesn't the contractor have one? It is fed by Direct TV, who provides MATV service to some mighty fine hotels, including some luxury hotels in Las Vegas. Why can't they keep the channels on in Dallas?

The hawker channel on the TV, which it switches to every time you turn on the TV, suggests you use Video On Demand, TV Internet, games, DVR, and other functions which do not work in this motel. It just has yet to be updated. Why taunt the guests with stuff they just don't have?

It is a Red Roof which has NEVER been refurbished. The beds sag, but the sheets are nice and new. The carpet in the rooms is old, but they recently replaced it in the lobby.

Like all Red Roofs, they have removed the coffee pots from the rooms, and installed a really awful coffee dispenser in the lobby. It is bad enough that the coffee machine is in the lobby, but it is worse that it makes really awful coffee.

The parking lot is filled with tractors from a mail contractor. I asked why they don't park in the street as MOST Red Roofs have signs which ban "Semis" from the parking lot. Not this one, they have a contract. While there is USUALLY parking, these guys have great fun at running 3600 RPM in first gear at 0.5 MPH through the lot. I don't know why they feel the need to make so much noise. I also don't understand why they cannot park on the street.

Because they allow large, HEAVY trucks in the parking lot, it is cracking badly, and has one HUGE pot hole near the office. This pit has been badly repaired several times, and is frequently surrounded by yellow tape. Sometimes they yellow tape blocks dozens of parking spaces near the rooms for some strange reason. Once I complained after a week of no action and it was removed. HUH?

Sadly, it is exactly where I want to stay, and the price is very low, but they Red Roof really needs to pay some attention to this rapidly deteriorating property. They don't even dedicate a manager to this motel; he is forced to "manage" another hotel in addition to this one.

  • Nice enough.

The hotel is nice enough. It is generally clean, and the staff is generally OK. In the past I have had trouble with the TVs, but now that is OK. They could provide a channel chart. Fox 4 is not on channel four as an example. It may very well be the last Red Roof to be remodled.
